Introduction

“...tell them that Adonai Elohim says this: ‘I will take the stick of Yosef, which is in the hand of Efrayim, together with the tribes of Isra’el who are joined with him, and put them together with the stick of Y’hudah and make them a single stick, so that they become one in my hand.” –Ezekiel 37:19 CJB 
The Book of Mormon is a record of exile and return. It is a testament of the Tree of Life. This book is a voice carried across deserts and oceans, a testimony etched into metal, preserved through fire and scattering, and brought forth again in the latter days for the healing of souls. 
The Restored Standard Edition (RSE) of the Book of Mormon is a fresh edition crafted to honor the earliest form of the text as Joseph Smith first presented it, while expressing it in clear, contemporary language for today’s readers. Unlike many modern printings that reflect later editorial changes, the RSE seeks to restore original chapter divisions and structural elements, making the text feel closer to how it was originally received. 
Its aim is not to alter doctrine, but to enhance accessibility, preserving sacred meaning while reducing linguistic barriers that can obscure understanding. By bringing the ancient voices of prophets into a modern idiom without sacrificing their nuance, the RSE invites newcomers and longtime students alike to engage more deeply with the book’s spiritual, historical, and theological richness. 
The Book of Mormon is not merely history. It is a map. It is the remembrance of Israel in exile, the cry of prophets in foreign lands, and the whisper of the Shekhinah moving among broken peoples. Its pages echo with the same ancient pattern found in the Torah and the Prophets: descent and ascent, scattering and gathering, fall and restoration. It speaks in the language of covenant, wilderness, redemption, and return. 
Like the writings engraved on the Plates of Brass, this record preserves the memory of Abraham (Avraham, father of many nations), the promises of יהוה (YHVH), and the eternal calling of Israel, Yashar-El, the straight path back to God. 
Yet this book also bears witness of something more hidden. It tells us the journey of the soul. From a Kabbalistic perspective, the Book of Mormon unfolds like the Tree of Life itself. Its narratives move through the worlds of Assiah, Yetzirah, Beri’ah, and Atzilut, from physical struggle to emotional refinement, from spiritual awakening to divine union. 
Its prophets walk the path of the Sefirot. They receive the spark of Keter in vision and calling. They learn Chokhmah and Da’at through revelation and sacred Torah. They enter Binah through visions of the Tree of Life. They wrestle between Chesed and Gevurah in mercy and judgment. They build vessels of Tiferet in harmony and obedience. They endure Netzach, submit in Hod, transmit in Yesod, and finally establish Malkhut. The Book of Mormon embodies the Kingdom of God among a living people. 
Every exile mirrors Adam and Eve’s fall. Every gathering echoes Sinai. Every covenant reflects the ancient yichud, the sacred reunification of heaven and earth. At its heart, this record testifies of the Holy One of Israel, the promised Messiah, the Word made flesh, the Divine Son who descends into mortality so that humanity might ascend again into divine life. 
Jesus the Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, He is called many names: the Lamb, the Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob, the Prophet like unto Moses, the Shepherd of one fold. In Kabbalistic language, He is the Tiferet of the Tree, the harmonizing center where mercy and judgment meet, where the Father’s will flows into creation, and where the Shekhinah finds Her restoration. Through Him, scattered sparks are gathered. Through Him, broken vessels are healed. Through Him, Israel remembers who she is. 
This modern English translation seeks to honor that sacred architecture, with Hebrew divine names preserved where possible. יהוה (YHVH), Elohim, Zion, Israel; not as ornament, but as living symbols of covenant consciousness. 
Certain passages carry Kabbalistic notes and resonances, not to replace faith with mysticism, but to illuminate the ancient spiritual grammar shared between the Plates of Brass, the prophets of Jerusalem, and the record preserved in the New World. 
This version is offered as a devotional lens, a way of seeing the Book of Mormon as more than a sacred history, as inner scripture. Reader, you are invited to enter this text as Israel entered the wilderness, with humility, courage, and a willingness to be transformed. This book does not merely tell what once happened, it asks what is happening now within nations, within families, and within hearts. It speaks to every soul wandering in exile, every seeker walking through mists of darkness, every child of God longing for the Tree of Life. 
May these words help awaken remembrance. May they guide you along the iron rod of covenant. May they lead you to living waters. And may the Holy One of Israel write His Name upon your heart.

AN ACCOUNT WRITTEN BY THE HAND OF MORMON, UPON PLATES TAKEN FROM THE PLATES OF NEPHI. 
Therefore, this record stands as an abridgment drawn from the chronicles of the people of Nephi and of the Lamanites, written first to the Lamanites, a remnant of Ben Yisrael, and also to the Yehudim (Jews) and to the nations. It was written by commandment, and inscribed through the Ruach of prophecy and the Breath of revelation. It was written, then sealed, then hidden away unto יהוה (YHVH), that it might not be consumed nor destroyed. To come forth again by the gift and power of YHVH Elohim, and to be understood only by that same gift. It was sealed by the hand of Moroni and entrusted once more unto יהוה (YHVH), to rest in concealment until the appointed hour. To come forth by the way of the goyim (Gentiles), its meaning unveiled by the gift of Ha’Elohim. 
This record also draws from the Book of Ether, the account of the people of Jared; a people scattered when יהוה (YHVH) confounded the tongues of humanity as they raised a tower to pierce the heavens. All this was written to show the remnant of Ben Yisrael the mighty works which יהוה (YHVH) performed for their fathers; that they might know the covenants of יהוה (YHVH), and understand that they are not cast off forever. And it is written also to persuade both Yehudi (Jew) and goy (Gentile) that Yeshua is HaMashiach, El Olam, who reveals Himself unto every nation, every people, every tongue. 
And now, if there are any faults in this record, these are the weakness of human hands. Therefore, do not condemn the works of יהוה (YHVH), lest you be found stained at the  seat of judgment before the Anointed One.

First Sefer Nephi

The First Book of Nephi, His Reign & Ministry

An account of Lehi, and his wife Sariah, and his four sons, being called (beginning at the eldest) Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi. יהוה YHVH warns Lehi to depart out of the land of Yerushalayim because he prophesies unto the people concerning their iniquity, and they seek to destroy his life. Lehi journeyed three days into the wilderness with his family. Nephi takes his brothers and returns to the land of Yerushalayim after the Plates of Brass. The account of their sufferings. They take the daughters of Ishmael to wife. They take their families and depart into the wilderness. Their sufferings and afflictions in the wilderness. The course of their travels. They come to the large waters. Nephi’s brothers rebel against him. He confounds them and builds a ship. They call the place Bountiful. They cross the large waters into the promised land. This is all according to the account of Nephi. In other words: I, Nephi, wrote this record.

Chapter 1

The Opening of the Heavens

I, Nephi, was born of noble parents, and from them I learned not only the letters and skills, but the weight of memory, the wisdom of my father, and the sacred inheritance of our people. 
My days have known affliction and trial, yet the hand of יהוה YHVH has been upon me; I have been favored beyond my knowing. 
I, having tasted the goodness of Ha’Elohim, and also having glimpsed the hidden mysteries, I set my days in order and make a record of my journeys. 
I write in the tongue of my father, the learning of the Bnei Yisrael, woven with the language of Mitzrayim, for truth must be clothed in many garments to endure across generations. 
I know this record is true, and I write it with my own hand, according to the light and knowledge given me. 
¶ In the first year of Tzidkiyahu, king of Judah, my father Lehi dwelt in Yerushalayim, as he had all his days. 
And in that year, many prophets rose, crying aloud to the people: Turn back, teshuvah, repent, or the great city would fall! 
And my father went out among the people, and his heart was pierced in prayer; He poured out his soul before יהוה YHVH for the sake of his people. 
¶ And as he prayed, a pillar of fire descended and rested upon a rock before him. 
He saw, he heard; and the weight of the vision shook him; his body trembled before the nearness of the Holy. 
¶ And He returned to his house and fell upon his bed, overcome by Ruach Elohim, by all that he had seen. 
And being overcome with the Breath, he was carried away in a vision, the heavens were opened. 
And he saw, by his spiritual eyes, El Elyon enthroned in glory, surrounded by countless hosts, mal’akhim without number, singing and praising their Elohim. 
¶ And then he saw One descending from the midst of heaven, whose radiance outshone the sun at its height. 
Twelve others followed Him, their brilliance surpassing the stars, 
and they came down and walked in the lands of Judah. 
And the First One approached my father, placing a book in his hands, asking him to read it. 
¶ As he read, the Ruach of יהוה YHVH filled him, and the words burned, 
and he read, saying: Woe, woe unto Yerushalayim! for I have seen your evil ways! 
He read many things of the city’s fall, of sword and exile, of captivity in Bavel. 
¶ When my father had read and beheld these great and terrible wonders, he lifted his voice and cried unto יהוה YHVH: 
How Great and marvelous are Your works, O יהוה YHVH, Elohim Shaddai! 
Your throne is high in the heavens, and Your power, goodness, and mercy flow over all the earth. 
Because You are merciful, You will not allow those who come unto You to be utterly lost! 
Thus did my father praise his Elohim. 
His soul rejoiced, his heart overflowed with what יהוה YHVH had revealed. 
And I, Nephi, do not record all that my father wrote, for he saw many visions, dreamed many dreams. 
And he spoke many prophecies to his children, but I will not write them all down here. 
Instead, I record my own path. 
I am making an abridgment of my father’s record upon plates fashioned by my own hands. 
After I finish his account, I will speak of my own life and the dealings of Ha’Elohim with me. 
¶ And know this: After יהוה YHVH revealed these marvels to my father, concerning the destruction of Yerushalayim, 
He went among the people and testified of all he had seen and heard. 
¶ And the people of Yehudim mocked him, they hardened their hearts because he spoke out boldly of all their wickedness and all their evil ways. 
And he testified that the words of the book revealed the coming of a Mashiyach and the redemption of the world. 
¶ At this, they grew angry, as they had with the prophets of old whom they cast out, stoned, and slew. 
And they sought my father’s life, seeking to kill him. 
But I, Nephi, will show you this truth: The tender mercies of יהוה YHVH are over all whom He has chosen. 
Because of faith, יהוה YHVH makes them mighty, even unto the power of deliverance. 
¶ And behold, יהוה YHVH spoke to my father, not with thunder, but in the still language of a dream, saying: You are blessed, Lehi, because you have done what I asked. 
Because you were faithful, and declared My Word without fear, they now seek your life. 
¶ Wherefore, HaKol, the Voice, instructed him, saying: Take your household, rise up, and depart into the wilderness. 
And my father listened; he did not delay, he did not bargain, but he obeyed the Word of יהוה YHVH. 
¶ And my father left to live in the wilderness. 
He left Yerushalayim behind: his house, his inheritance, his gold and silver, all precious things, and took nothing with him save us, his family, provisions, and the fragile shelter of tents. 
And so, we went down by the borders of the Red Sea, 
journeying through wild places, walking the narrow edge between water and desolation. 
With him were my mother, Sariah, and my brothers—Laman, Lemuel, and Sam. 
¶ And after three days in the wilderness, my father pitched his tent in a valley beside a river. 
There he raised an altar of stones and offered thanksgiving to יהוה YHVH, the Elohim of our fathers. 
And he named the river Laman, and it flowed into the Red Sea; and there was a valley in the borders near the mouth of the river. 
¶ And seeing the waters run without ceasing, my father said to my brother, Laman: O that you might be like this river, ever flowing into the Fountain of Righteousness. 
And to Lemuel he said: O that you might be like this valley; firm, steadfast, unmoved in keeping the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH. 
And he spoke this way because their necks were stiff and their hearts unyielding. 
They murmured against him, calling him a visionary, accusing him of folly; they said he had led them away from wealth and comfort to perish in the wilderness. 
They said he was following the imaginations of his heart. 
They went on like this, speaking against our father. 
And they murmured because they did not know the ways of Ahyeh Asher Ahyeh who created them. 
They did not believe that Yerushalayim could fall, as the prophets had said. 
They were like those in the city who sought my father’s life. 
¶ But in the valley of Lemuel, my father spoke with power, the Breath of יהוה YHVH filled him, and his words shook their frames. 
Then my father confounded them, and they dared not speak against him; and they did as he instructed them. 
And my father dwelt in a tent. 
¶ Now I, Nephi, was young, yet strong in body, and burning with desire to know the mysteries of יהוה YHVH. 
I cried unto יהוה YHVH, and He visited me; He softened my heart, and I believed all that my father spoke. 
And I did not rebel as my brothers had. 
I spoke to Sam, and told him what His Holy Breath had revealed to me. 
¶ And Sam believed. 
But Laman and Lemuel, they would not listen. 
And their hearts were hardened, and I grieved for them and cried unto יהוה YHVH on their behalf. 
¶ יהוה YHVH answered me, saying: Nephi, you have been blessed because of your faith. 
You have sought Me diligently, with humility of heart. 
And if you will keep My mitzvoth, you will prosper; I will lead you to a land of promise, a land prepared for you, choice above all other lands. 
If your brothers rebel, they will be cut off from My Presence. 
But if you remain faithful, you will be made a guide and a teacher over them. 
When they rebel against Me, I will place a curse upon them; they will not have any power over your seed, unless your seed also rebel. 
And if they do, your brothers will become a scourge to your seed; not to destroy, but to awaken remembrance, to turn My people back to Me. 
¶ I, Nephi, returned from speaking with יהוה YHVH to the tent of my father. 
And my father said to me: Behold, I have dreamed a dream!  יהוה YHVH has asked that you and your brothers return to Yerushalayim. 
Laban holds the records, the writings of Yehudim, and the genealogy of our fathers, engraved upon plates of brass. 
יהוה YHVH has asked that you and your brothers go to the house of Laban, seek the records, and bring them down into the wilderness. 
But your brothers have complained, saying: This is a hard thing. 
Yet I have not required it of them! It is the mitsvah of יהוה YHVH. 
Go, my son, because you have not grumbled, יהוה YHVH will favor you. 
¶ And I answered my father, saying: I will go and do the things which יהוה YHVH has asked. 
For I know this truth: Elolaum will not give any mitzvoth without first preparing a way that His Word may be fulfilled. 
¶ And when my father heard me say these words, his heart rejoiced, as he knew I had been blessed of יהוה YHVH. 
And we took our tents and journeyed through the wilderness, ascending again to the land of Yerushalayim. 
¶ When we arrived, we counseled together and cast lots to choose who would enter the house of Laban. 
The lot fell upon Laman; he went in and spoke with Laban as he sat in his house. 
And Laman asked for the records engraved on the Plates of Brass, the genealogy of our father. 
¶ But Laban grew angry, and he cast Laman out and refused him the records. 
He said: You are a robber, I will have you killed! 
Laman fled and told us what had happened. 
And we were filled with sadness, and my brothers desired to return to our father in the wilderness. 
But I said to them: As יהוה YHVH lives, and as we live, we will not return until we accomplish what יהוה YHVH has asked of us. 
Let us be faithful. 
Let us go down to the land of our inheritance; for our father left behind gold and silver and riches of every kind, 
and he did this not by desire, but by obedience. 
He knew Yerushalayim would fall in their wickedness. 
¶ The people have rejected the prophets. 
Had he remained, he would have perished with them. 
It was wisdom that he fled. 
And it is wisdom in El Olam that we obtain these records, that we may preserve for our children the language of our fathers, 
And the words of the holy prophets, spoken by Ruach HaKodesh from the beginning of the world until now. 
¶ In this way, I was able to persuade my brothers to keep the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH. 
We gathered our gold, our silver, and our precious things, 
and we returned again to the house of Laban. 
¶ We offered him our wealth in exchange for the Plates of Brass. 
¶ But when Laban saw our riches, his heart was seized by desire; he drove us out and sent his servants to slay us, so that he could take our goods. 
We fled before them, leaving behind all we owned, and our property fell into Laban’s hands. 
¶ And so we ran into the wilderness and hid ourselves in the hollow of a rock. 
Then Laman grew angry with me, and with our father, and Lemuel joined him. 
They spoke harsh words against us, their younger brothers, and struck us with a rod. 
¶ As they smote us, an angel of יהוה YHVH appeared and stood before them, saying: Why do ye smite your younger brother? 
Know ye not that יהוה YHVH has chosen him to be a ruler and a teacher over you because of your iniquities? 
Go then, return again to Yerushalayim, and יהוה YHVH will deliver Laban into your hands. 
When the angel finished speaking, he departed. 
Yet even then, Laman and Lemuel began to complain, saying: How is it possible? 
Laban is a mighty man! He commands fifty, he can slay fifty, why not us? 
¶ Then I spoke, and said to my brothers: Let us go up again to Yerushalayim; let us be faithful to the mitzvot of יהוה YHVH. 
And we know that יהוה YHVH is stronger than all the earth, stronger than Laban, stronger than his fifty, stronger than tens of thousands. 
Let us be strong, like Moses; did he not speak to the waters of the Sea, and they parted to the right and to the left? 
And our fathers passed through on dry ground, and the armies of Pharaoh followed, and the waters returned upon them. 
You know these things are true! You know an angel has spoken to you, why then do you doubt? 
Let us go up! יהוה YHVH is able to deliver us, as יהוה YHVH delivered our fathers, and to bring down Laban, as יהוה YHVH brought down Mizraim (Egypt). 
¶ Though I spoke these words, they continued to be angry and to murmur; still, they followed me until we came outside the walls of Yerushalayim. 
It was night; I caused them to hide themselves beyond the city, and after they were hidden, I, Nephi, entered alone. 
I crept into the city and made my way toward the house of Laban. 
Led by the Ruach, not knowing beforehand what I should do, I went forward in faith. 
As I drew near, I saw a man fallen in the street; he lay upon the ground, overcome with wine. 
When I came closer, I saw that it was Laban! 
I saw his sword, and I drew it from its sheath. 
Its hilt was of pure gold, the craftsmanship exquisite, and the blade was forged of the finest steel. 
¶ And then the Ruach HaKodesh pressed upon me that I should slay Laban. 
But I said within my heart: Never have I shed the blood of a man! I recoiled, not wanting to do this thing. 
And the Ruach spoke again, saying: See, יהוה YHVH has delivered him into your hands. 
And I remembered that he sought your life, that he would not obey the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH, and that he stole our property. 
¶ Again, the Ruach said: Slay him, יהוה YHVH has delivered him into your hands. 
יהוה YHVH brings down the wicked to bring forth His righteous purposes. 
It is better that one person perish than a nation dwindle and die in unbelief. 
¶ And when I heard this, I remembered the words יהוה YHVH spoke to me in the wilderness: If your children will keep My mitzvoth, they will prosper in the land of promise. 
And I understood that the Torah of Moses cannot be kept without the Torah itself, 
and I knew that the Torah is engraved on the Plates of Brass. 
I understood then that this was the reason Laban had been delivered into my hands: that I might obtain the records according to the will of יהוה YHVH. 
So I obeyed the Voice of the Ruach. 
I took Laban by the hair and struck off his head with his own sword. 
¶ Afterward, I took his garments and dressed myself in them, every part; I secured his armor upon myself. 
And after this, went to the treasury of Laban. 
As I approached, I saw his servant, the keeper of the keys. 
I instructed him in the voice of Laban to follow me into the treasury. 
He believed me to be his master, seeing the garments, and the sword at my side. 
He spoke to me of the elders of the Yehudim, for he knew that Laban had been among them that night. 
And I answered him as though I were Laban. 
I told him that I must carry the engravings upon the Plates of Brass to my elder brothers who waited outside the walls. 
I instructed him to follow me. 
And believing my words, he did. 
As we went, he spoke often of the elders of the Yehudim. 
¶ When my brothers saw me, they were filled with fear, Laman, Lemuel, and Sam. 
And they fled; they thought I was Laban, that I, Nephi, had been slain, and now Laban sought their lives as well. 
¶ But I called after them, and when they heard my voice, they stopped and returned. 
When the servant saw my brothers, he trembled and turned to flee back to Yerushalayim. 
¶ But I, Nephi, being strong in body and strengthened by יהוה YHVH, seized him and held him fast. 
¶ I said to him: As יהוה YHVH lives, and as I live, if you will listen to our words, your life will be spared. 
I swore to him that he need not fear, that he would be a free man like us if he would come with us into the wilderness. 
I said: Surely יהוה YHVH has instructed us to do this; will we not be diligent in keeping the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH? 
If you will go down to my father, you will be given a place among us. 
¶ At these words, the servant took courage. 
This servant’s name was Zoram, and He promised to go with us into the wilderness, 
and he swore an oath to remain with us from that day forward. 
This is what we wanted, so the Yehudim might not learn of our flight and pursue us to destroy us. 
¶ When Zoram had sworn to us, our fear concerning him ceased. 
And then we took the Plates of Brass and Zoram, and departed into the wilderness, traveling back to the tent of our father. 
¶ When we came down into the wilderness to the tent of our father, his heart overflowed with joy. 
And my mother, Sariah, was filled with joy, as she had mourned deeply for us. 
She had believed that we had perished in the wilderness. 
In her grief, she had spoken against my father, saying: You are a visionary man. 
You have led us away from the land of our inheritance; now my sons are gone and we shall all perish in the wilderness. 
She had poured out her sorrow like this, complaining against my father. 
¶ But my father spoke to her gently and said: I know that I am a visionary man. 
Had I not seen the things of El Elyon in vision, I would not have known the goodness of יהוה YHVH! 
I would have remained in Yerushalayim and would have perished with my people. 
But look! I have been given a land of promise, and in this my soul rejoices. 
And I know that יהוה YHVH will deliver my sons out of the hands of Laban and bring them safely back to us here in the wilderness. 
In this way my father, Lehi comforted my mother, Sariah, while we journeyed to Yerushalayim to obtain the record of Yisrael. 
¶ When we returned to my father’s tent, their joy was complete, and my mother’s heart was healed. 
She said: Now I know, with certainty, that יהוה YHVH instructed my husband to flee into the wilderness. 
And I know, and testify, that יהוה YHVH protected my sons, delivered them from the hand of Laban, and gave them the power to accomplish the thing He required of them. 
And in this way,  she bore her witness. 
¶ Then our parents rejoiced exceedingly, and they offered sacrifices and burnt offerings to יהוה YHVH and gave thanks to Ve’Daiyan Yisrael. 
And after they had given thanks, my father took the Plates of Brass and searched them from the beginning. 
And he saw that they contained the Five Books of Moses, which gave an account of the the account of the creation of the world, 
and of Adam and of Eve, our first parents. 
They held the record of Yisrael from the beginning to the reign of Zedekiah, king of Judah. 
They preserved the words of the holy prophets, 
and many prophecies spoken by Jeremiah. 
¶ My father also found upon the plates the genealogy of his fathers, 
And he knew that he was a descendant of Joseph the son of Jacob, who was sold into Egypt, yet preserved by the hand of יהוה YHVH to save his father and all his household from famine. 
That same Elohim who preserved Joseph also led Yisrael out of captivity, out of the land of Egypt. 
Thus my father discovered the lineage of his soul. 
And Laban, too, was a descendant of Joseph; therefore the records had been entrusted to his house. 
¶ When my father beheld all these things, he was filled with the Ruach, and he began to prophesy concerning his seed. 
He declared that the Plates of Brass would go forth to all nations, kindreds, tongues, and peoples of his lineage. 
He said they would never perish, nor would they be dimmed by time. 
And he prophesied many things yet to come. 
¶ Thus far, my father and I had kept the mitzvoth יהוה YHVH had given us. 
We obtained the records He required, searched them, and found them exceedingly precious, of great worth, 
and through them we could preserve the Torah of יהוה YHVH for our children. 
It was wisdom in יהוה YHVH that we should carry them with us as we journeyed through the wilderness toward the land of promise.

Chapter 2

Gathering in Wisdom

And now I, Nephi, do not set forth the lineage of my fathers upon these plates, nor will I do so hereafter; 
their genealogy is already preserved in the record kept by my father; I will not repeat it in this writing. 
It is enough for me to say that we are of the house of Yosef. 
Nor do I seek to record every deed or recount all the words of my father, as the plates upon which I write are few, and space is precious. 
I desire that this room be consecrated to the words and workings of Ha’Elohim. 
The fullness of my intent, the kavanah of my soul, is to invite all who read to turn their faces toward the Elohim of Avraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, to live, and to be gathered, and to be saved. 
Because of this, I will not write the things that delight the world, or the vanities that pass like breath; 
but I will write the things that bring joy to the Heavens, and light to those who seek to walk apart from the world. 
And I give the following instruction to my seed: Do not fill these plates with empty or fleeting words, 
preserve upon them only that which holds weight: truth that endures, wisdom that binds, and words that draw the children of humanity back toward the Presence. 
¶ And now I would have you know this: that after my father Lehi had finished prophesying concerning his seed, יהוה YHVH spoke to him again and said: It is not fitting that you should walk into the wilderness alone with your family. 
Your sons must marry, so that their seed may be raised up unto Me in the land of promise. 
¶ And יהוה YHVH asked that I, Nephi, and my brothers return once more to Yerushalayim, to bring Ishmael and his household down into the wilderness. 
¶ So we went again, back through dust and stone, back toward the city we had fled, and came to the house of Ishmael. 
And we found favor in his sight, and we spoke to him the Word of יהוה YHVH. 
¶ And יהוה YHVH softened his heart, and the hearts of all his household, and so they journeyed with us into the wilderness to the tent of my father. 
Yet along the way, rebellion rose like a dry wind. Laman and Lemuel, together with two of Ishmael’s daughters, and two of his sons and their families, turned against us— 
against me, Nephi, and Sam, and against Ishmael, and his wife Na‘ema, and his other three daughters. 
¶ Their hearts longed to return to Yerushalayim, 
and I was grieved because of the hardness within them; so I spoke plainly to my elder brothers and said: You are my elder brothers! 
Why then are your hearts so stiff and your minds so veiled, that your younger brother must teach you and set the example? 
Why have you not listened to the voice of יהוה YHVH? 
How have you forgotten you have seen a malak of יהוה YHVH? 
How have you forgotten the mighty works He has done for us, how He delivered us from Laban and placed the sacred record in our hands? 
Have you forgotten that יהוה YHVH is able to do all things according to His will, if the children of Adam will but trust יהוה YHVH? 
Let us be faithful, I said. 
If we are faithful, we will inherit the land of promise! And you will yet know that the Word of יהוה YHVH concerning the destruction of Yerushalayim will surely come to pass. 
For everything YHVH Ameth says about the destruction of Yerushalayim will be fulfilled. 
The Ruach of יהוה YHVH is nearly withdrawn from that city. 
They have rejected the prophets, and they have cast Jeremiah into prison. 
They sought my father’s life and drove him from the land. 
¶ If you return there, you will perish with them. 
Now, if it is your choice to go back up to that land, remember what I have said: that if you go, you will also die; I spoke these words because the Ruach constrained me. 
¶ But when my brothers heard this, they burned with anger. 
They seized me in the heat of their anger, 
and they bound me with cords, wanting to leave me in the wilderness to be devoured by wilda beasts. 
¶ Then I cried out to יהוה YHVH and said: O יהוה YHVH, according to my faith in You, deliver me from the hands of my brothers. 
Give me strength to break these bonds! 
¶ And when I had finished praying, the cords fell from my hands and feet. 
And I stood free before them and spoke again. 
Then they rose up once again in anger. 
But one of Ishmael’s daughters, and her mother, and one of his sons pleaded with them, and their hearts softened. 
And they ceased seeking my life. 
¶ And they were filled with sorrow; they even bowed down before me and asked forgiveness for what they had done. 
¶ I forgave them freely and urged them to pray to יהוה YHVH their Elohim for forgiveness. 
And they did so. 
After they had prayed to יהוה YHVH for forgiveness, we continued our journey together and came again to the tent of my father. 
¶ And when all the house of Ishmael arrived safely, 
they gave thanks to יהוה YHVH, their Elohim, 
And they offered sacrifices and burnt offerings to יהוה YHVH, our Elohim. 
¶ We gathered every kind of seed, grains of the field, fruits of the tree, holding in our hands the promise of life yet unborn, seeds awaiting their season in the land prepared by Ha’Elohim. 
And while my father lingered in the wilderness, he spoke to us and said: I have dreamed a dream, or rather, I have been shown a vision from Heaven. 
Because of what I saw, my heart rejoices before יהוה YHVH for Nephi and Sam, I have seen that they, and many of their descendants, will be preserved and drawn into salvation. 
But for Laman and Lemuel my soul trembled greatly; in my vision, he said, I beheld a desert, dark, vast, and desolate, a place where the light was hidden. 
¶ Then I saw a man clothed in white, wrapped in purity like linen of the sanctuary, that man came stood before me. 
And spoke without force, saying only: Follow me. 
And as I followed, I found myself wandering through a waste of shadows, a land of confusion and forgetting. 
And for many hours I traveled in darkness, until my strength failed, and my soul cried out. 
Then I prayed to יהוה YHVH, appealing not to merit, but to mercy, to the abundance of His Chesed, His endless lovingkindness. 
¶ And after I prayed, the darkness broke open, and before me spread a vast and open field. 
And there in the midst of that field stood a tree, ancient, radiant, alive. 
Its fruit shone with desire, and I could see that the fruit could make the soul rejoice! 
¶ I drew near and ate of the fruit, 
its sweetness surpassed every taste I had ever known. 
And it was pure beyond pureness, clean beyond cleanliness, and clear beyond clarity; like refined light, untouched by shadow. 
And as I ate, my soul overflowed with joy: joy beyond speech, a joy that yearned to be shared. 
And I longed for my family to taste it also, knowing this fruit was above all fruits, the delight of life itself. 
And as I looked about for my family, I saw a river. 
The water of this river was flowing nearby, moving gently beside the tree. 
I followed the river to its source. 
There I saw your mother, Sariah, and Sam, and Nephi, standing uncertain, not knowing which way to turn. 
¶ And I called to you with a loud voice: Come to me! Come and partake of the fruit, there is nothing more precious than this! 
¶ And you came, and together we ate, and the joy became ours also. 
Then my heart turned again toward Laman and Lemuel, I wanted them to come and partake too. 
And I searched for them by the river’s head. 
¶ Then I saw them, but they would not come, they would not eat of the fruit. 
Between the river and the tree, I saw a rod of iron, unbroken, unyielding, sure, stretching along the bank and leading directly to the tree. 
Beside it ran a straight and narrow path, Derekh Ha’Yashar, leading from the fountain through the field of the world to the Tree of Life. 
This path also followed by the head of the fountain to a great field, as large as the whole earth! 
There I saw multitudes, numberless souls, pressing forward, seeking the path that led to the tree. 
¶ Some began the journey leading to the Tree of Life, 
but a great mist of darkness arose, thick, choking, blinding, and many lost their way and wandered into nothingness and were lost! 
¶ Others came forward and grasped the rod of iron with both hands. 
Through the darkness they pressed on, clinging, enduring, refusing to let go, until they reached the Tree of Life and tasted its fruit. 
Yet after eating, some looked around in shame. 
Across the river stood a great and spacious building, 
suspended in the air, it was rootless, weightless, a palace of illusion. 
It was filled with people, young and old, men and women. 
They were dressed in a form of splendor, 
yet they were mocking and pointing at those who partook of the fruit. 
Some were ashamed by the scorn, these fell away into forbidden paths and were lost. 
¶ These are not all the words of my father. 
But to be brief, he saw more multitudes grasp the rod of iron, and these people pressed forward without wavering, until they reached the tree, fell down, and ate. 
He also saw others feeling their way toward the great and spacious building. 
¶ Many were drowned in the depths of the fountain. 
Many vanished, wandering off into strange paths, 
while a great multitude entered that empty palace. 
Those within pointed in scorn at those of us who partook of the fruit, but we did not heed them. 
My father told us that all who heeded them fell away. 
And Laman and Lemuel, my father said, did not partake of the fruit. 
¶ After my father finished telling us of his vision, his heart was heavy with fear for them, 
he was afraid they would be cut off from the Presence of יהוה YHVH. 
He pleaded with them as a tender father pleads with his children, urging them to listen, hoping the Holy One would yet show them mercy. 
He preached to them. 
¶ And after he preached to them, he prophesied to them; he exhorted them to keep the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH. 
And then he fell silent. 
All these things my father saw and heard and spoke while dwelling in a tent in the Valley of Lemuel, and many more besides, too weighty, too numerous, to be engraved upon these plates. 
Now I speak concerning these plates, that you may understand their purpose, these are not the plates upon which I write the full history of my people. 
The record of our generations, our lineage, our journeys, our rise and our fall, are all engraved upon another set which I have named after myself: the Plates of Nephi. 
Both are called by my name. 
¶ Yet they do not share the same in calling, יהוה YHVH instructed me to fashion these plates for a sacred and set-apart purpose: that upon them should be engraved the ministry of my people, their dealings with Ha’Elohim, their visions, covenants, prophecies, and prayers. 
Upon the other plates are written the reigns of kings, the clash of armies, the striving of factions, and the wounds of contention. 
These plates are given chiefly to the things of the Ruach; the other plates to the affairs of the throne and the sword. 
Why has יהוה YHVH asked for this division? For a wise purpose that rests within Him, a purpose hidden from my knowing. 
Yet יהוה YHVH knows all things from the beginning, standing before the beginning and beyond the end alike, from the First Light to the Last Word, nothing escapes His sight. 
יהוה YHVH prepares a way to fulfill every work among the children of Adam, 
all power is in the hand of יהוה YHVH to bring His word to completion. 
And so it is: Amen.

Chapter 3

The Unsealing of the Word

Now I, Nephi will inscribe upon these plates an account of my journey, of my rule among my people, and of my ministry facing Ha’Elohim; and to do this right, I must speak again of my father and of my brothers. 
¶ And after my father had finished recounting the words of his dream, after he had urged us with all diligence, he spoke to us concerning the Yehudim: 
That Yerushalayim, the City of Peace, would be brought low; that many would be carried away in chains into Babylon. 
Yet in the appointed time of יהוה YHVH, they would return again, released from captivity, and repossess the land of their inheritance. 
¶ He taught us further that six hundred years after he had fled from Yerushalayim, YHVH Elohim would raise up among the Yehudim a Prophet greater than all: the Mashiyach, the Abiyr of the world. 
Many prophets, he said, had already borne witness of Him, this Redeemer; 
for without Him all humanity remains fallen and lost, with no path of teshuvah. 
¶ My father also spoke of the forerunner, a prophet sent ahead, to prepare the way of יהוה YHVH. 
One who would cry out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of יהוה YHVH! Make straight the paths of our Elohim! 
He would proclaim: There stands among you One you do not yet know, One mightier than I, whose sandals I am unworthy to loosen. 
Much did my father teach concerning this herald. 
He said this prophet would baptize at Bethabara beyond the Jordan, immersing in living water, and that he would t’vilah the Mashiyach in the mikveh Himself. 
And after this immersion, he would bear witness: I have baptized Seh Ha’Elohim, the Lamb of Elohim, who carries away the guilt of the world. 
¶ Then my father turned to speak of the Besorah, the Good News, that would be preached among the Yehudim, 
and of their gradual turning away in unbelief. 
He prophesied that after the Mashiyach was slain, He would rise from death, and reveal Himself by the Ruach HaKodesh to the goyim. 
¶ Much did he say of the goyim and of Bnei Yisrael, the people of the straight path to El, 
likening them to an olive tree: its branches broken off, scattered across the face of the earth. 
Thus, my father said, it was necessary that we be led together into a land of promise, that the Word of יהוה YHVH might be fulfilled, that Yisrael would be scattered. 
Yet scattering would not be the end; afterward, Yisrael would be gathered again. 
After the goyim had received the fullness of the Besorah, the natural branches, the remnant of Yisrael, would be grafted back in, coming at last to know their true Mashiyach, their Adonai, their Ga’ali. 
In this manner did my father prophesy to my brothers, 
and many more things besides which I do not record here, for they are written more fully in my other book. 
All of these things occurred while my father dwelt in a tent in the valley of Lemuel. 
¶ Now after I, Nephi, had heard all the words of my father, the visions he saw, 
and the prophecies he spoke by the power of the Ruach, which power he received through faith in Ben Elohim, the Son of Ha’Elohim. 
(And Ben Elohim is the Mashiyach who would come.) 
I longed within my soul to see, to hear, and to know these things myself, by that same Ruach HaKodesh. 
This gift is given by Ha’Elohim to all who diligently seek יהוה YHVH, in ancient days, and in the days when He would manifest Himself among the children of men. 
For He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 
The way has been prepared from the foundation of the world for all who repent and turn toward יהוה YHVH. 
The one who truly seeks will find; 
and the hidden mysteries of Ha’Elohim will be unfolded by the power of the Holy Wind today even as it was in former times. 
in this present age, and in ages yet to come. 
For the path of יהוה YHVH moves in one eternal circle. 
Remember, O people of the earth: for every deed, you will be brought into judgment! 
If you choose wickedness during the days of your probation, you will stand unclean before the judgment seat of Ha’Elohim. 
No unclean thing can dwell in the Presence; therefore, such must be cast away. 
And the Holy Wind bears witness that I speak these words, and I do not deny them. 
¶ And because I, Nephi, yearned to understand the vision my father had seen, trusting with full faith that יהוה YHVH is able to reveal all things, 
I sat quietly, pondering in the depths of my heart, when suddenly, I was caught up by the Ruach of יהוה YHVH, lifted beyond myself, and carried to an exceedingly high mountain, one I had never known, a place my feet had never touched. 
And the Voice spoke, saying: What do you desire? 
And I answered: I desire to see the things my father saw. 
Then the Voice said to me: Do you believe that your father truly beheld the tree of which he has spoken? 
And I replied: Yes, you know that I believe all the words of my father. 
¶ Then the Voice cried out with a great voice, saying: Hosanna to יהוה YHVH, El Elyon, Elohim Shaddai! יהוה YHVH reigns over all the earth, above every throne and power. 
And the Voice said to me: Blessed are you, Nephi, for you have believed in the Son of El Elyon! Because of this, you will behold the things you desire. 
And this shall be your sign: after you behold the Tree bearing the fruit your father tasted, you will also see a Man descending from heaven. 
You will witness Him, and after you have seen Him, you shall testify that He is Ben Elohim. 
¶ Then the Voice said: Look! 
And I looked, and I saw the Tree! It was like the tree my father had seen, yet its beauty surpassed all beauty, and its whiteness exceeded even driven snow. 
¶ And when I saw it, I said: Surely, you have shown me the Tree that is most precious of all. 
And then the Voice asked: What do you desire now? 
I answered: To know the meaning of what I have been shown. 
Though He appeared in the form of a man, and spoke as one man speaks to another, I knew He was the Ruach of יהוה YHVH. 
¶ Then The Voice said again: Look! 
And as I turned to see Him, He was no longer before me. 
And I looked, and I beheld the great city of Yerushalayim, and many other cities. 
And I saw Natzeret, and within it, a young woman, exceedingly fair, radiant, and pure. 
¶ The heavens opened, and a malak descended and stood before me. 
He asked: Nephi, what do you see? 
I answered: A young lady, more virtuous and lovely than any other woman. 
And the malak said: Do you understand the condescension of Ha’Elohim? 
I replied: I know that He loves His children, yet I do not know the meaning of all things. 
And the malak said: The young woman you see is the mother of Ben Enosh, after the manner of flesh. 
¶ Then I saw her carried away in the Ruach. 
After a time, the malak said again: Look! 
And I saw her once more, now bearing a child in her arms. 
The malak proclaimed: Behold Seh Ha’Elohim, the Eternal Father! 
Do you now understand the Tree your father saw? 
And I answered: Yes, it is Ahavah, the love of Ha’Elohim, poured out into the hearts of the children of mankind, most desirable above all things. 
And He said: Yes, and the most joyous to the soul. 
Then the Voice said again: Look! 
And I witnessed Ben Elohim walking among humanity. 
Many fell at His feet and worshiped Him. 
¶ And I saw that the Rod of Iron was the Word of YHVH Ameth, leading to the Fountain of Living Waters to the Tree of Life; and these waters were the love of Ha’Elohim itself. 
And I understood that the Tree of Life was also a manifestation of that Ahavah. 
And the malak said again: Look! and behold the condescension of יהוה YHVH! 
And I saw the Ga’ali of the world, 
and the prophet who prepared His way. 
The Lamb was washed clean, the heavens opened, 
and the Ruach HaKodesh descended like a dove and rested upon Him. 
And He went forth ministering in power and glory. 
The multitudes gathered, 
And yet they cast Him out! 
I saw twelve others following Him. 
¶ Then, they were taken from my sight. 
Again the malak said: Look! 
And I saw the heavens opened, 
and mal’akhim descended to minister to the children of mankind. 
Again he said: Look! 
And I saw the Lamb going out to the people: 
Healing the sick, casting out unclean spirits, restoring those bound in darkness. 
The malak spoke to me, showing me all these righteous works, 
and they were healed by the power of the Lamb of Ha’Elohim, and the devils and the unclean spirits were cast out. 
¶ Then again he said: Look! 
And I beheld the Lamb seized by the people; El Olam, the Everlasting God was judged by the world; I saw, and I bear witness. 
And I saw that He was lifted upon the tree and slain for the sins of all. 
Afterward, I saw the nations gather to war against the Shli’achim of the Lamb. 
They assembled as one, 
and they were in a great and spacious building, the very same structure my father had seen. 
And then the malak said: Behold the world, and the wisdom of the world. 
And even Bnei Yisrael gathered as one to fight against the twelve Shli’achim of the Lamb. 
¶ And I saw that the great and spacious building was the pride and egoism of the world. 
And it fell, and its fall was profound and remarkable. 
Then the malak of יהוה YHVH said: Thus shall be the end of all nations, peoples, and powers who fight against the Shli’achim of the Lamb. 
¶ And the malak said to me: Look, and behold your seed, and the seed of your brothers. 
And I lifted my eyes, and I saw the Land of Promise spread wide before me. 
And upon it came multitudes of people, countless as the grains of sand upon the shore of the sea. 
¶ And I saw many people gathered against one another, nation rising against nation. 
There were wars, and rumors of wars, and the sword drank deeply among my own people. 
¶ Generations passed before my eyes, each shaped by conflict and contention. 
Cities rose, too many to number, and cities fell. 
¶ Then a mist of darkness covered the land of promise, a choking cloud upon the face of the earth. 
Lightning tore the heavens; thunder answered from the depths. 
The earth convulsed, and the rocks split apart. 
Mountains collapsed into fragments. 
Plains broke open. 
Cities sank beneath the ground. 
Others were consumed by fire. 
Many were thrown down by the trembling of the earth. 
¶ After these things, the vapor of darkness lifted, 
and I saw those who had not fallen under the great and terrible judgments of יהוה YHVH. 
And behold: the heavens opened, and the Lamb of Ha’Elohim descended from heaven and stood among the people, revealing Himself to the survivors. 
And I saw and I bear record that Ruach HaKodesh descended upon twelve others: they were ordained by Oseh Shalom, chosen and set apart. 
¶ The malak said to me: Behold the twelve disciples of the Lamb, chosen to minister to your seed. 
Do you remember the twelve Shli’achim of the Lamb? They will judge the twelve tribes of Yisrael, they who walk the straight path to God. 
So also shall these twelve ministers of your descendants be judged by them, because you are of Bet Yisrael. 
These twelve whom you see will judge your seed. 
They are righteous forever, for through faith in the Lamb of Ha’Elohim, their garments are made white in His blood. 
¶ The malak said: Look! 
And then I saw three generations pass away in righteousness, their garments were white, like the Lamb Himself. 
These are made clean by the blood of the Lamb, the malak said, because of their faith in Him. 
And I also saw many of the fourth generation who died in righteousness as well. 
¶ Then I saw the multitudes of the earth gathered together. 
Again, the malak said: Behold your seed, and the seed of your brothers. 
I looked, and I saw my people gathered in great numbers against the seed of my brothers, assembled for war. 
¶ The malak spoke again: Behold the fountain of filthy water your father saw, the river of which he spoke; Its depths are the depths of Sheol. 
The mists of darkness are the temptations of the adversary, which blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of mankind, leading them onto broad roads where they are lost and perish. 
The great and spacious building is the vain imagination, the pride and egoism of humanity. 
And between them lies a great and terrible gulf, the word of the justice of El Olam and of Yeshua HaMashiyach, the Messiah, the Lamb of Ha’Elohim. 
Of Him the Ruach HaKodesh bears witness, from the foundation of the world until now, and from now forevermore. 
As the malak spoke, I saw the seed of my brothers contend against my seed, according to his word. 
Because of the pride of my people and the snares of the adversary, the seed of my brothers overpowered my seed. 
¶ And I saw that my people were overcome, and the seed of my brothers spread in multitudes across the land. 
And I saw them gathered together again and again. 
I saw wars, and rumors of wars, and through them many generations passed away. 
And the malak said to me: See, these will dwindle in unbelief. 
¶ And after they had lost their faith, I saw that they had become incapable of perceiving divine truth, corrupted and estranged, unproductive in the things of the Ruach, and forgetting the Torah. 
¶ And the malak said to me: Look! 
And I saw many nations, many kingdoms rising and falling like waves upon the sea. 
And the malak asked me: What do you see? 
And I answered: I see more nations and realms than I can number! 
He said to me: These are the kingdoms of the goyim. 
¶ And as I watched them, I saw the foundation laid for a church vast and terrible, exalted above all others, yet more corrupt than all. 
And the malak said: Behold the church most abominable, she who slays the holy ones of Elohim, who tortures the righteous, who binds them with iron yokes, and drags them into captivity. 
¶ And I understood that her foundation was the Accuser himself, the serpent of old. 
I saw gold and silver piled high, silks and scarlet robes, fine linen and precious garments; I saw harlotry clothed in splendor. 
And then the malak said: All she desires are the wealth, praise, dominion, and the admiration of the world. 
To gain her desires, she destroys the qaddishim and sells souls into bondage. 
¶ Then I looked again and saw many waters, vast and dividing, separating the goyim from the seed of my brothers. 
And the malak said: Behold, the wrath of Elohim rests upon your brothers’ seed. 
And I saw a man among the goyuim, cut off by the many waters. 
Ruach Elohim descended upon him, and he crossed the waters to the land of promise. 
¶ Then I saw others stirred by that same Ruach, leaving captivity behind, passing through the waters by unseen power. 
¶ I saw multitudes of goyim spread across the promised land, 
And I saw the wrath of Ha’Elohim scatter the seed of my brethren before them. 
Yet I saw the Ruach of יהוה YHVH upon the goyim; they prospered, they inherited the land. 
They were radiant and fair as my people once were before the sword consumed them. 
¶ And I saw that when the goyim would humble themselves before יהוה YHVH, then His power was with them. 
Then their mother nations rose against them on land and sea, 
Yet the power of Ha’Elohim protected them, and the wrath of יהוה YHVH fell upon their enemies. 
¶ Thus, the goyim who fled captivity were delivered by the hand of יהוה YHVH from every opposing nation. 
And I saw them flourish in the land. 
Then I saw a book carried among them. 
The malak asked: Do you know what this book is? 
I answered: I do not. 
He said: It comes forth from the mouth of a Yehudi; and I, Nephi, saw it clearly. 
This book, he said, contains the covenants of יהוה YHVH with Bnei Yisrael: 
The words of the prophets, the record of holy promises. 
It is like the Plates of Brass, though diminished, 
yet it still holds the doctrines and covenants יהוה YHVH has given Bet Yisrael. 
This book is still precious to the goyim. 
¶ And the malak said: You have seen that this book has come from the mouth of a Yehudi. 
When it first came forth, it held the Besorah in plainness, the testimony borne by the twelve Shli’achim, true according to the Lamb of Elohim. 
And when it comes from Yehudim, in purity to the goyim, it holds the truth that is in יהוה YHVH. 
Yet after it passed from the hands of the prophets and Shli’achim of the Lamb, from the Yehudim to the goyim, you can see the foundation of that great and abominable church, more abominable than any other church, 
and many things were taken away from the Besorah, the Good News of the Lamb, 
plain truths, precious covenants, and hidden light. 
These things were removed to twist the paths of יהוה YHVH, to blind the eyes and harden the hearts of humanity. 
As you can see, once the book had gone through the hands of the great and abominable church, many plain and precious things were removed from the book, this book of the Lamb of Ha’Elohim. 
And after this light and knowledge was removed, it went out to all the nations of the goyim! 
These false teachings even went out across the many waters you saw, they went with those goyim fleeing captivity. 
These simple things taught by the book were lost to the children of mankind, the teachings of the book being changed by those who translated it, making the language of the book match the understanding and theologies of mankind, removing simplitisty of the teachings of the Lamb of Elohim. 
Thus, the book went forth wounded, and because of what was lost, many stumbled, and the Adversary gained great power. 
Yet יהוה YHVH would not abandon the goyim who, being lifted up by YHVH Elohim, had fled captivity from the other goyim nations to choice lands, 
coming to the lands that YHVH Elohim has given in covenant to your father, for his seed to keep as an inheritance. The goyim will never be able to utterly destroy the seed of your father, though it will be mixed with other seed. 
The goyim will not utterly destroy the remnant of your seed, nor allow them to remain forever wounded. 
At the same time, YHVH Elohim will not allow the goyim to remain in their wounded state, which you see they are in because they have lost the most precious parts of the Besorah of the Lamb, as they have been kept back by that abominable church. 
The Lamb said: I will be merciful to the goyim, and I will visit the remnant of Yisrael in judgment. 
¶ And the malak spoke again: See, says the Lamb of Ha’Elohim, after I have visited the trace parts of Bet Yisrael that remain, and this remnant part is the seed of your father, 
after I have visited them, and the goyim's hands smite Yisrael. 
And after the goyim stumble because of what was taken from My Word by that great and abominable church, the mother of harlots, says that Lamb, 
I will, in My mercy, bring forth again by My own power much of My Besorah, restored in clarity and light. 
For I will manifest Myself to your seed, said the Lamb, and they will write what I teach them, words plain and precious. 
And after your seed has been destroyed and fallen into unbelief, along with the seed of your brothers, these records shall be hidden, then brought forth again from the goyim by My power to heal the nations. 
In them is My Besorah, My Yesod, My salvation. 
Blessed are those who labor to raise Zion in that day, for they will walk in the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh. 
If they will keep their testimony, they shall rise at the last day in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb. 
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who publish peace, who proclaim good news, who declare joy! 
¶ Then I saw the surviving portion of my brothers’ seed receive the book of the Lamb from the goyim, 
and I saw other records come forth by the power of the Lamb from the goyim to teach them, testifying to what was left of the seed of my brothers, to the Yehudi, to the goy, and to scattered Yisrael that the words of the prophets and the Shli’achim are true. 
¶ And the malak said: The second record confirms the first, restoring the light and understanding that was taken. 
They testify to every nation that the Lamb of Ha’Elohim is the Eternal Father, the Moshia of the world that all must come to Him, or they cannot be saved. 
And this is according to His words, established by the mouth of the Lamb. 
And these words will be known together, the record of your seed and the record of the Shli’achim of the lamb. 
These will be established as one, 
because there is one YHVH Ameth and one Shepherd over all the earth. 
The time will come when He will reveal Himself to every nation, to Yehudim and goyim alike. 
And after He has declared Himself to the Yehudim and goyim, He will declare Himself to the goyim and the Yehudim, 
and the last shall be first, and the first shall be last. 
¶ And it will be in that day, if the goyim listen to the voice of the Lamb of Elohim, He will reveal Himself to them in word, in power, in living reality, removing the stones over which they have stumbled. 
If they do not harden their hearts against the Lamb, they will be counted among the seed of your father. 
Yes, they will be numbered among Bnei Yisrael. 
They will become a blessed people on the land of promise forever. 
They shall no longer be dragged into captivity, no longer in exile. 
And Bet Yisrael will no longer be shamed or confused among the nations. 
And the great pit, the abyss dug for them by the great and abominable church founded by the Accuser and his children to drag souls downward into Sheol, that pit will be filled by those who dug it. 
Yes, the snare laid for the destruction of humanity will swallow its own builders, unto their complete undoing, declares the Lamb of Elohim. 
This is not the annihilation of the soul, but its casting into the endless abyss, 
according to the captivity of the devil and according to the justice of Ha’Elohim upon all who choose wickedness and practice abomination before His face. 
¶ And the malak spoke to me, saying: You have seen that if the goyim walk in teshuvah, it will be well with them. 
You know the covenants of יהוה YHVH made with Bnei Yisrael. 
And you have heard that those who refuse teshuvah must perish. 
Therefore, woe unto the goyim if they harden their hearts against the Lamb of Elohim. 
For the time is coming, says the Lamb of Elohim, when I will perform a work—great, astonishing, and wondrous among the children of humanity. 
It will be an everlasting work, stretching in two directions: 
Either it will persuade them toward peace and eternal life, or it shall deliver them to the hardness of their own hearts and the blindness of their own minds, leading them into captivity and ruin, both temporal and spiritual, according to the dominion of the devil of which I have spoken. 
¶ And when the malak had spoken these words, he said to me: Do you remember the covenants of Avinu with the Bet Yisrael? 
And I said: Yes. 
Then he said: Look and see, the great and abominable church, the mother of abominations, whose founder is the devil. 
And he said: There are only two churches: 
one is the Avodah of the Lamb of Elohim, the other is the church of the devil. 
Whoever does not belong to the Church of the Lamb of Elohim belongs to that great church, the mother of abominations, 
and she is the harlot of all the earth. 
¶ And I looked, and I saw the harlot of all the earth seated upon many waters. 
She held dominion over nations and kingdoms, over kindreds, tongues, and peoples across the whole world. 
¶ Then I saw the Church of the Lamb of Elohim, and they were few, made small by the corruption and violence of the great harlot who ruled the many waters. 
Yet I saw that the Saints of יהוה YHVH were scattered across the face of the earth, present in every land. 
Their influence was small, their dominion narrow, because of the overwhelming wickedness of the great mother of abominations. 
¶ And I saw that she gathered multitudes from every goyim nation ready to make war against the Lamb of Elohim. 
¶ Then I, Nephi, saw the power of the Lamb descend upon the Kadosh of His church and upon the covenant people of יהוה YHVH, though scattered across the earth. 
They were clothed in righteousness, armed with divine power, wrapped in great glory. 
¶ And I saw the wrath of Ha’Elohim poured out upon the great and abominable church. 
Wars arose, and rumors of wars echoed among all nations and kindreds. 
And as these wars began to spread through the dominion of the harlot, the malak said to me: 
Behold, the wrath of יהוה YHVH rests upon the mother of harlots. 
Look! You are seeing these things, 
and when the day comes that the wrath of Ha’Elohim is fully poured out upon the great and abominable church, whose foundation is the devil, then will the work of Avinu begin. 
In that day, the work of Avinu will be done; He will prepare the way to fulfill His covenants with His people, Bnei Yisrael. 
¶ And the malak said to me: Look! 
And I looked, and I saw a man clothed in white. 
And the malak said: Behold, one of the twelve Shli’achim of the Lamb. 
He will see and write the remainder of these things, 
things yet to come, and many things that have already been. 
He will write about the end of the world. 
What he writes shall be just and true, 
And it is written in the book that came forth from the mouth of a Yehudi. 
When it first went forth, its words were plain, pure, precious, and easy for all to understand. 
And the malak said: Many of the things the Shliach of the Lamb will write you have already seen. 
The rest you will yet behold. 
But you must not write them, for YHVH Elohim has appointed this Shliach of the Lamb of Elohim to write them. 
Others, too, have seen these things and written them. 
Their words are sealed, to come forth in purity according to the truth that is in the Lamb, in יהוה YHVH’s appointed time, for Bet Yisrael. 
¶ And I, Nephi, testify that the name of the Shliach of the Lamb was John, according to the word of the malak. 
And I am forbidden to write the remainder of what I saw and heard, 
and what I have written is enough. 
I have written only a small portion of the vision shown to me. 
I testify that I saw what my father saw, and that the malak of יהוה YHVH made these things known to me. 
Now I end my speaking concerning the visions I saw while carried away in the Ruach. 
Though not all things are written, the things I have written are true. 
And so it is: Amen.

Chapter 4

The Tree, the Word, and the Way

After the Ruach released me and the vision withdrew like a receding flame, I returned to my father’s tent. 
There I found my brothers, voices raised, hearts divided, arguing over the things our father had said. 
And he had spoken deep and meaningful things, ethical dilemmas, societal challenges, hidden and sealed matters­—things that cannot be grasped unless one turns and inquires of יהוה YHVH. 
But they were jaded and cynical, and because of this, they did not look upward as sons ought to look toward Abba Ha’Briy’ah as they should. 
My soul was heavy with sorrow, sorrow for their resistance, and sorrow for what I had seen. 
And I knew these things must surely come to pass because of the great corruption that spreads among the children of mankind. 
I was overcome by grief, as I had seen the fall of my people in vision: their scattering, their breaking, and my affliction felt greater than all others. 
¶ Yet as strength eventually returned to me, I turned to my brothers and asked: What is the cause of your argument? 
They answered: We do not understand the things our father said, the natural branches of the olive tree, the goyim, the meaning hidden within his speech. 
I asked them: Have you asked YHVH Yir’eh for enlightenment? 
And they said: We have not; Ha’Kadosh Yisrael does not reveal such things to us. 
Then I asked: How is it that you do not keep your mitzvoth? 
How is it that your hearts have become as stone and you walk toward your own demise? 
Don’t you remember that YHVH El Racham has said: If you do not harden your hearts, and you ask in faith, believing you will receive, and walk diligently in the mitzvoth I give you, these mysteries will be opened to your understanding. 
¶ Hear this: By the Ruach of יהוה YHVH, Yisrael was likened to an olive tree: rooted, living, covenant-bearing. 
And are we not branches of that tree? Are we not cut off, yet still of the same living root? 
What our father spoke of, the grafting in of the natural branches through the fullness of the Gentiles, means this: In the latter days, after our descendants fall into unbelief for many generations, after the Mashiyach reveals Himself in flesh, the fullness of His Besorah will go first to the goyim and then flow back to the remnant of our seed. 
Then shall they awaken, then will they know, not merely believe, but know that they are of Ha’Bet Yisrael, the covenant people of יהוה YHVH. 
They will remember their fathers, they will remember the Ga’ali who ministered among them. 
And they will know His doctrine clearly: how to draw near, how to return, how to be healed. 
And will they not rejoice? Will they not praise their Elolaum, their Yesod, their Salvation? 
Will they not receive nourishment from the true Vine, the shefa flowing from the Root of Life? 
Won’t they return to the true Fold of YHVH Adoni Ha’Shaboth? 
I tell you, they will be numbered again among Bet Yisrael. 
They will be grafted back as a natural branch into the living olive tree, 
this is what our father meant. 
And he meant that this tikkun comes only after scattering, and it comes by way of the goyim, 
And he meant that it will come by way of the goyim so that יהוה YHVH may show His power among them, even as He is rejected by Yisrael for a season. 
Our father did not speak of our seed alone, but of all Yisrael, pointing to the covenant that would be fulfilled in the latter days, 
The covenant sworn to Avraham: In your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. 
¶ I spoke long with my brothers, teaching them of these things, 
And of the restoration of Yehudim in the latter days. 
I recited the words of Isaiah, who foresaw Yisrael’s return, 
and their healing, their end of scattering. 
And as I spoke to them, their hearts softened, and they humbled themselves before Shalom YHVH, and peace settled among us. 
¶ Then they asked again: What did our father’s dream mean? 
What was the tree that he saw? 
I said: It was the Tree of Life. 
And the rod of iron that led up to the Tree of Life? they asked. 
I told them that it is the Word of YHVH Ameth; whoever clings to it will not perish. 
No temptation nor fiery dart of the Adversary can blind them or lead them away. 
I begged them to pay attention to the Word of Yah! 
With all the strength of my soul I urged them: Hold fast to the Word of יהוה YHVH! Remember His mitzvoth, always! 
Then they asked: What was the river of water? 
I said: The water our father saw was filthiness. 
His mind was filled so much by other things that he did not see how dirty that water was. 
And I told them of the terrible gulf that separates the wicked from the Tree of Life and from the kedoshim of יהוה YHVH. 
I told them it is the qliphoth, the abyss of sheol prepared for corruption, what the messenger called the place of separation prepared for those who reject the light. 
I told them that our father had seen how the justice of יהוה YHVH divided the wicked from the righteous, 
and that the brightness of it was like the brightness of a flaming fire, one that shoots up into the heavens, up to Ha’Elohim forever and ever, having no end. 
¶ They asked: Does this speak of bodily suffering now, or the soul’s fate after death, or of earthly things? 
I answered: It speaks of both: temporal and eternal. 
All must be judged by both their intent and their actions. 
We see that if one dies in corruption, they are cut off spiritually from righteousness, 
and must stand before Ha’Eolhim for judgment. 
If their works are unclean, they remain filthy. 
And if their hearts are filthy, they cannot dwell in Malkut Elohim, the Kingdom of יהוה YHVH, 
if they could, then Malkut Elohim would be filthy too. 
I tell you, Malkut Elohim is not filthy, so nothing unclean can dwell in Malkut Elohim. 
Therefore, a place of separation exists, 
that terrible death, founded upon the Adversary himself. 
The final state of the soul is either dwelling in Malkut Elohim or being cast out by Gevurah Shamayim, the Justice of Heaven. 
The wicked are separated from the righteous and from the Tree of Life, whose fruit is the most precious of all, 
the fruit of that tree is the greatest gift Abba Ha’Briy’ah gives. 
And these are the words I spoke to my brothers: Amen.

Chapter 5

The Way is Written on the Heart

After I had finished speaking to my brothers, they said to me: These are hard words you have spoken, more than we can carry. 
¶ And I said to them: I know the words were sharp, the truth is a sword to the wicked and a balm to the righteous! I have spoken according to what is true, lifting up the just, and declaring that they will rise at the last day. 
But the guilty call truth difficult, because it cuts inward, even to the marrow of the soul. 
My brothers, I said, if your hearts were upright, and if you were willing to listen, to walk straight before Ha’Elohim, you would not murmur against truth or say: You speak against us! 
And I urged them with all diligence to keep the mitzvoth of יהוה YHVH. 
And after hearing this, they humbled themselves before יהוה YHVH, and my heart rejoiced, because I had great hope that they would yet walk the narrow and living path of righteousness. 
All these things came to pass while my father dwelt in a tent in the valley he named Lemuel. 
¶ In those days I, Nephi, took one of the daughters of Ishmael as my wife; and my brothers did likewise, and Zoram took Ishmael’s eldest daughter. 
In this way, my father fulfilled all his mitzvoth, as יהוה YHVH had given him, 
and I too was exceptionally blessed. 
¶ Then, in the stillness of the night, the Voice of יהוה YHVH spoke to my father, instructing him to continue the journey into the wilderness. 
And when my father rose at dawn and stepped to the door of his tent, he was astonished! There, upon the ground, lay a round object, expertly crafted, made of polished brass. 
Within this ball there were two spindles, one of which pointed the way we should travel through the wilderness. 
¶ And we gathered what provisions remained, all we could carry that יהוה YHVH had given us, 
and seed of every kind, that life might yet spring forth even in desolation. 
¶ We took our tents and crossed the river Laman. 
And we traveled four days in a south-southeast direction, until we pitched our tents again and named the place Shazer. 
¶ From there, we hunted with bows, arrows, stones, and slings, and returned to Shazer with food for our families. 
And again, we pressed onward, keeping near the fertile edges of the wilderness, along the borders of the Red Sea. 
We traveled day after day for a long time, using our bows, arrows, stones, and slings to slay our food. 
And we were always guided by the brass sphere, which led us by life-giving paths, where we could survive in the wilderness. 
After many days, we camped again to rest and to gather food. 
¶ And then the day came when I, Nephi, broke my bow of fine steel. 
My brothers were angry with me, as without it we were unable to hunt and bring back game. 
We returned to our families empty-handed, 
and our families suffered hunger and weariness. 
¶ In their hunger, Laman and Lemuel grumbled, the sons of Ishmael complained; even my father spoke against יהוה YHVH his Elohim! Sorrow thickened the air, and their hearts grew heavy with complaint. 
¶ I too was afflicted, as my brothers’ bows had lost their strength, and food was nowhere to be found. 
I spoke plainly to them, reprimanding the hardening of their hearts and their griping against יהוה YHVH, their Elohim. 
¶ Then I made a new bow from wood and made an arrow from a straight branch; I armed myself with what was simple, a bow, an arrow, a sling, and stones. 
Then I asked my father: Where should I go to find food? 
Humbled by my words, he inquired of יהוה YHVH, as I had said many things to them by the very power of my soul. 
¶ And the voice of יהוה YHVH came to him, chastening him for his murmuring until he was brought low in sorrow. 
And יהוה YHVH said: Look upon the ball, read what is written! 
When my father saw the writing, fear and trembling seized us all, my brothers, the sons of Ishmael, and our wives. 
¶ And I understood that the spindles within the ball worked according to our faith, our diligence, and the attention we gave them. 
New words appeared upon it, plain, living words, revealing the ways of יהוה YHVH, and the writing changed over time, reflecting our devotion or our neglect. 
This was how we learned that by small and simple means יהוה YHVH brings about great things 
¶ Based on the directions given to us by the ball, I climbed to the top of the mountain, 
and there I slew wild beasts, bringing food to our families. 
When I returned to our tents with the game I had slain, 
they saw it, and their joy overflowed, 
and then they humbled themselves and gave thanks to YHVH Yir’eh. 
¶ We journeyed again along the same course, 
and after several days, we pitched our tents again and camped for a season. 
¶ And there Ishmael died and was buried in the place called Nahom. 
His daughters mourned deeply, and their grief turned to fear and complaining. 
They blamed my father for taking them from their home in Yerushalayim, crying: 
Our father is dead! We have wandered in hunger and thirst, and now we will die suffering here in the wilderness! 
And they mutter against my father and me like this, wanting nothing but to return to Yerushalayim. 
And Laman riled Lemuel and the sons of Ishmael up, saying: Let us kill our father and Nephi, who pretends to rule over us. 
He says יהוה YHVH speaks to him, that angels attend him! 
But he lies, he seeks to deceive us, leading us into strange lands. 
And after he has led us away, he thinks he will make himself king over us, doing whatever he wants at his own whim and pleasure. 
And he went on like this, inflaming their hearts. 
¶ But יהוה YHVH was with us, and the Voice came again speaking to them, chastening them with power. 
After they were chastened, they repented, their anger dissolved, and יהוה YHVH blessed us with food once more, so that we did not perish. 
¶ And again we set our faces toward the wilderness, journeying Eastward beneath the open heavens. 
Our path was marked by affliction: sand and stone, hunger and weariness, yet life continued among us, and our wives bore children as we traveled in the desert. 
The blessing of Ha’Rachaman rested on us in abundance; though we ate uncooked flesh, our women were strong, filled with life; their bodies overflowing with nourishment for their children, enduring the journey without complaint, bearing hardship with a strength equal to the men. 
Thus we learned this truth: the Torah of יהוה YHVH does not fail! 
Because when the children of mankind keep the mitzvoth יהוה YHVH gives them, Yachad Yachid Echad sustains them, strengthens them, and prepares the very means by which His word may be fulfilled. 
So He provided the things we need throughout our wandering in the wilderness. 
For eight long years we sojourned, years of refinement, years of testing, 
until we came to a land we named Bountifula, a place of fruit and wild honeyb. 
And we understood that this was a land prepared by יהוה YHVH so that we would not perish. 
There we beheld the sea, which we called Irreantum, the Sea of Many Waters. 
¶ We pitched our tents beside its shore. 
And though our sufferings were many, too many to record, our hearts overflowed with joy when we stood before the sea. 
Again, we called the place Bountiful, for life flowed freely there. 
¶ And after many days, the Voice of יהוה YHVH came to me, saying: Arise! Ascend the mountain. 
And I went up into the mountain and cried out to יהוה YHVH. 
¶ And He spoke, saying: Build a ship, after the pattern I will show you, that I may carry your people across these waters. 
And I said: Adonai, where will I find ore to fashion tools for such a work? 
And יהוה YHVH showed me where to go. 
¶ And I made bellows from animal skins to kindle the fire, 
and I struck stones together to draw forth flame. 
Until that time, יהוה YHVH had not permitted us to make fire in our journey, saying: 
I will make your food sweet without cooking. 
I will be your light in the wilderness. 
I will go before you and prepare the way. 
And if you will keep My Torah, you will know it is I who leads you toward the Promised Land. 
And when you arrive, you will know that I, יהוה YHVH, am your Elohim, 
that I, יהוה YHVH, am your Deliverer; 
it is I who brought you out of the land of Yerushalayim. 
Because of this, I worked to keep His Torah and its mitzvoth, strongly encouraging my brothers to be faithful. 
¶ I fashioned tools from the molten ore. 
But when my brothers saw that I intended to build a ship, they mocked me, saying: 
He is a fool, he thinks he can build a ship, 
And he thinks he can cross these vast waters. 
They complained openly, unwilling to help with the labor, 
and, they refused to believe that I was instructed by יהוה YHVH. 
¶ Their unwillingness to believe broke my heart. 
And when they saw my sorrow, they rejoiced in it, saying: 
We knew you couldn’t build a ship, you lack judgment, you cannot complete such a task! 
You are like our father, led by foolish visions. 
Our father brought us out of Yerushalayim, and we have suffered all these years. 
Our women labored in childbirth in the wilderness. 
It would have been better to die in the City of Peace than to endure this. 
Look at all the years we have suffered in the wilderness, time we could have spent enjoying everything we left behind! We could have been happy. 
We know that the people of Yerushalayim were righteous. 
They kept the mitzvoth, the Torah, and the judgments of יהוה YHVH. 
Our father has judged them in error, and led us away! 
And Nephi is just like him! 
In this way, my brothers spoke against us. 
¶ Then I spoke to them again: Do you believe Yisrael would have escaped Egypt if they had not hearkened to יהוה YHVH? 
Would they have escaped slavery if YHVH had not instructed Moses to lead them out of bondage? 
And you know that Bnei Yisrael were kept as slaves, burdened with difficult tasks. 
Do you understand that it was better for them to be led out of that bondage? 
You know that Moses was given to do that great work. 
And would Moses have parted the sea without His command?” You know the Red Sea divided. 
And you know Pharaoh’s armies were swallowed. 
You know manna fell from heaven, 
and by the power of יהוה YHVH, Moses hit the rock, and water burst forth from it. 
Yet despite being led by יהוה YHVH Himself as a pillar of cloud by day, fire by night, giving them everything they needed to sustain their lives, they hardened their hearts, blinded their minds, and complained against Moses and against YHVH Ameth, who is Elohim Chaiyim. 
¶ And keeping His Word, Ve’Daiyan Yisrael destroyed them: 
By His word, He led them. 
By His word, YHVH El Racham did everything for them. 
And Nothing happened unless it was by the Word of Ahman Ha’Olam. 
And after they crossed the river Jordan, He made the people strong, and they drove out nations before them. 
Was this because Yisrael was greater? No! 
Was it because our fathers would have been better off if they had been more righteous? 
I tell you, No! 
יהוה YHVH esteems all flesh equally, 
thought righteousness is precious to Ha’Elohim. 
Yet we see, El Roi lets the wicked grow in their evil, the wicked ripen into their fates, 
and YHVH Raphacha cursed the land against the wicked, while yet blessing our fathers; and he cursed the land to the destruction of the wicked, 
While blessing it for our fathers, giving them stewardship over it. 
Ahyeh Asher Ahyeh created the earth for all life, 
and Abba Ha’Briy’ah teaches His children how to live in the earth. 
And YHVH Yir’eh raises nations and brings them low. 
Ha’Yohtzar Ha’Or leads the righteous into precious lands and makes the earth a curse to the wicked. 
And El’Olam reigns from the heavens where his throne rests, the earth being His footstool. 
HaShem YHVH loves those who choose Him. 
Oseh Shalom loved and remembered Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the covenant He made with them and their children. 
YHVH Yir’eh delivered them from Mizraim (Egypt), 
and corrected them in the wilderness. 
When the fiery serpents came, He offered a way to be healed. 
All they had to do was look, yet many perished because the way was too simple. 
Those were the people who hardened their hearts, murmuring against Moses and against Ha’Elohim. 
And yet, as you know, they were led forward by the matchless power of Tzur Yisrael to the promised land. 
And now, after everything, they have ripened in their iniquity. 
And I know that now is the time of their destruction. 
And now I know that Yerushalayim is near destruction, except for the few who will be taken away captive. 
This is why יהוה YHVH told our father to flee into the wilderness. 
First, the Yehudim wanted to kill our father, and now you, you want to end his life too! 
In your hearts, you are murderers just like them. 
How quick you are to do evil, yet so slow to remember יהוה YHVH, your Elohim. 
You have seen a malak, and he has spoken to you, you know you have heard his voice more than once! 
You have heard the still, small Voice, but because your hearts were numb, 
and then יהוה YHVH spoke in thunder and shook the earth beneath your feet! 
And so you know that by the Word of His power, if He wanted, YHVH Tsidkenu could destroy this earth! 
You know that by His Word, HaShem YHVH can make rough things smooth and break smooth things into pieces. 
O! Why are your hearts so hard? 
My soul is torn with anguish for you! My heart hurts in my fear that you may be cast off forever! 
I am overflowing with the Ruach Elohim, so much that my body had no strength left. 
¶ And then, when I had finished speaking, they wanted nothing more than to throw me into the sea. 
But I commanded them in the name of Elohim Shaddai: Do not to touch me, for the power of Ha’Rachaman is burning within me. 
If anyone were to touch me, they would wither like dry grass; they would be as nothing before the power of Shalom YHVH for YHVH Raphacha will smite them. 
¶ I told them to stop their moaning and clamoring, and to labor with me. 
¶ For if YHVH Yir’eh  wills it, all things are possible. 
If He should tell me to say to this water to become earth, and I say it, the water would obey. 
So now, knowing that Tzur Yisrael has done all these wonders, why could He not teach me to build a ship? 
¶ And I spoke to them to the point that they had no response to my words—they were perplexed, astonished, and ashamed. 
And because of this, they did not dare to touch me for many days. 
And the power of Ruach Elohim was so strong in me that they were afraid they would die, right there in front of me. 
¶ Then יהוה YHVH said: Stretch forth your hand again, I will not wither them, but I will shake them, so they will know that I am יהוה YHVH. 
¶ And so I stretched out my hand, touching them, and they were shaken by the power of YHVH Ameth. 
And the said: We know for sure that Ahman Ha’Olam is with you, because through you we have felt the power of HaShem YHVH. 
They fell before me, but I lifted them up, saying: I am your brother, do not worship me! 
Worship יהוה YHVH, your Elohim! Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land יהוה YHVH gives you. 
And finally found the faith to bow themselves before יהוה YHVH, and they went with me into the labor, and together we shaped timbers of rare design, wood taught not by human craft alone. 
And יהוה YHVH instructed me again and again, revealing the hidden pattern, the tzurah beneath the form, showing me how each beam must be cut, each joint aligned with the heavens. 
I, Nephi, did not work the wood as men are taught by other men, I did not build the ship after the customs of this world. 
The ship was formed by revelation, after the manner shown me by יהוה YHVH, and therefore it bore a wisdom not born of this age. 
¶ Often I ascended the mountain seeking the Face beyond the veil, I prayed; and in that rising and returning, יהוה YHVH unveiled to me great and secret things. 
¶ And when the ship was finished according to His Word, my brothers looked upon it and saw that it was good: its workmanship beautiful, ordered, whole. 
And once more, humility clothed my brothers, and they bowed themselves in humility before יהוה YHVH. 
¶ And Then the Voice spoke to my father: Arise! Go down into the ship. 
At dawn, we prepared all that was instructed: fruit from the wilderness, meat, honey in abundance, and provisions measured by obedience. 
Going down to the ship, each soul entered according to their season, 
elders and children, wives and sons, and all descended into the vessel. 
¶ In the wilderness, my parents birthed two sons: Jacob, and Joseph; their names promises carried across the sea. 
And after we had loaded up ourselves, provisions, and our belongings onto the ship, as was our mitzvoth, 
we set forth upon the waters, driven by the wind toward the land prepared for us. 
But after many days, my brothers and the sons of Ishmael, and even their wives, began to dance, sing, and speak with scorn to their own self-pleasure; they gave themselves to laughter without remembrance, to song without gratitude, and to dancing without reverence. 
They had forgotten the Source of their deliverance, forgetting by what Power they had been carried to that point. 
Their speech grew coarse, and their hearts were puffed up. 
Fear seized me, not for myself, but for the ship of souls; I trembled lest יהוה YHVH be provoked, lest the sea become our judgment and swallow us into the depths. 
I spoke to them with sobriety, with measured words, seeking to restore balance. 
But they burned with anger, crying: We will not have our younger brother command us! 
¶ Then Laman and Lemuel, names that once bore strength and devotion, laid their hands upon me, binding me with cords, and they were harsh with me. 
But יהוה YHVH permitted it so that His power might yet be revealed, and His word fulfilled upon the unrepentant. 
¶ As I was bound and unable to move, the compass prepared by יהוה YHVH, the sign of divine orientation, stopped working; direction vanished, knowledge was severed from action. 
Not knowing where to steer the ship, when a great storm arose, terrible and consuming, 
we were driven backward upon the waters for three days. 
Fear spread through the ship, my family thought we would drown in the sea! 
Yet still my captors would not release me. 
On the fourth day, the tempest grew even more fierce, and the sea opened its mouth. 
¶ It seemed as though we were about to be swallowed up by the sea! 
After being driven back on the waters for the space of four days time, at last they perceived that the judgments of Ve’Daiyan Yisrael were upon them, and that only teshuvah could preserve us. 
They came and loosened the cords from my wrists, which were now swollen and wounded, and from my ankles, sore with pain. 
¶ Yet I turned my face toward my Ve’Daiyan, praising Him without stopping, and I did not murmur, for suffering borne in faith restores what rebellion fractures. 
¶ Now, my father had spoken up, warning them, but they threatened any who defended me. 
My parents, worn with years and sorrow, were brought low, near to the threshold of death. 
And they were in such a sorry state because of the evils of my brothers, that they were ready to meet Shalom YHVH. 
Their gray hairs bent low, toward the dust, 
their lives nearly claimed by grief and the sea alike. 
Jacob and Joseph, still tender in years, suffered in hunger, weeping because of their mother’s suffering. 
My wife pleaded with tears and prayers; my children cried out; yet none of this had softened their hardened hearts. 
Nothing but the raw power of YHVH Ameth, threatening destruction, could break the grip of pride. 
Only when they saw the abyss ready to receive them, they looked for teshuvah and released me. 
¶ I took the compass once more, and it lived again in my hands. 
And I prayed to יהוה YHVH, and the winds stilled, the storm dissolved, and a great calm descended, chaos had returned to order. 
¶ I guided the ship again, and we sailed onward toward the land of promise. 
After sailing for many days, we arrived! And we stepped foot upon the land of promise. 
We pitched our tents, and named it: Ha’aretz HaMuvtakhat: The Promised Land. 
¶ And we tilled the soil, we planted every seed carried from Yerushalayim. 
And they grew beyond measure! The land overflowed with blessings in abundance. 
¶ We found beasts in the forests of every kind, for labor, for sustenance, for life; we gave them common names, like cow, ox, ass, horses, and goat, making use of all of them 
And in the earth were hidden treasures, gold, silver, and copper, waiting to be raised by a people who would remember the Hand that brought them there. 
¶ And it came to pass that יהוה YHVH instructed me to fashion plates from the ore of the earth, and to carve on them a remembrance of my people. 
And upon these plates I inscribed the record of my father, his visions, his prophecies, our wanderings through the wilderness, and many things the Ruach revealed to me as well. 
At the time I made them, I did not yet know that יהוה YHVH would later command me to prepare these very plates, this smaller record, for this purpose. 
The fuller history, the genealogy of my fathers, and most of the early journeyings, are engraved upon the first set of plates, the larger record. 
The writings to be read here are told there in greater detail on the other plates. 
¶ And then, after I had made these plates as I was instructed, I received another word from יהוה YHVH: that the ministry, the prophecies, the plain and precious things, those that heal, awaken, and bind souls to Oseh Shalom, should be written here. 
These words were to be preserved for the instruction of the people who would inherit the land, and also for a wise purpose known to יהוה YHVH. 
Upon the other plates, I recorded a different account: the wars, the contentions, the destructions of my people. 
And I told my children that these records should be passed from generation to generation, from prophet to prophet, until יהוה YHVH should give further instruction. 
The story of how these plates were made will be told later. 
For now, I continue as I have said, that the more sacred things may be preserved for the knowledge of my people. 
I do not engrave upon these plates anything I do not judge to be holy. 
And if I err, I err as those before me have erred, 
not to excuse myself by their weakness, but to confess my own, for I am flesh. 
What some hold to be of great worth, to body and to soul, others trample under their feet. 
Even Ha’Kadosh Yisrael is treated as nothing! 
I say trample under their feet, but let me say this another way: 
They do not listen to the voice of His counsel; they dismiss Him, and turn away. 
And yet you will see that, according to the word of the malak, He will come six hundred years from the time my father left Yerushalayim. 
The world, hardened by iniquity, will judge Him as worthless: they will scourge Him, and He will endure it; they will strike Him, and He will take it. 
They will spit upon Him, and He will suffer it because of His blessed lovingkindness, and His long-suffering toward the children of Adam. 
The Elohim of our fathers, the One who brought Yisrael out of Mitzrayim, who sustained them in the wilderness, 
the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will yield Himself into the hands of wicked men to be lifted up, as Zenock foretold. 
He will be crucified, as Neum declared. 
He will be laid in a tomb, as Zenos spoke, and three days of darkness will cover the land 
as a sign of His death to those upon the isles of the sea, 
especially to Bet Yisrael. 
The prophet has said: YHVH Elohim shall surely visit all Bnei Yisrael in that day. 
Some He will visit with His voice because of their righteousness unto joy and salvation. 
Others He will visit with thunder and lightning, with fire and smoke, with darkness and the trembling of the earth, with mountains lifted and the ground torn open. 
All these things must surely come, said the prophet Zenos. 
The rocks will split, and the earth itself will groan. 
And many kings of the isles of the sea will hear these groans and be pierced by Ruach Elohim and cry out: Elohei Ha’Teva suffers. 
As for those at Yerushalayim, the prophet declared: They shall be scourged by all nations, because they crucify Ha’Tzur Yisrael, rejecting signs and wonders, turning aside from His power and glory. 
Because they despised HaKodesh Yisrael, they will wander in the flesh, scattered, becoming a hiss and a byword, and be hated among the nations. 
Yet when the day comes that they no longer harden their hearts against HaKodesh, then יהוה YHVH will remember the covenants made with their fathers. 
He will remember the isles of the sea. 
He will gather all Bnei Yisrael from the four corners of the earth, as Zenos said. 
And the prophet said: All the earth will see the salvation of יהוה YHVH. 
Every nation, every kindred, every tongue, every people shall be blessed. 
¶ And now I, Nephi, write these things to persuade my people to remember יהוה YHVH, their Ga’ali. 
And I speak to all Bet Yisrael, whoever may receive these words. 
For the workings of the Ruach HaKodesh within me cause my frame to tremble, even my joints are weak, and my soul is burdened for those at Yerushalayim. 
Had יהוה YHVH not shown me their end, just as He showed the prophets of old, I too would have perished. 
And I know that He revealed all things to the ancient prophets, 
And He has revealed much concerning us as well! 
And we must know these things, because we read them, as they are written upon the Plates of Brass.

Chapter 6

The Word Given to the Remnant

And when the time came, I, Nephi, taught my brothers these things. 
I opened before them the ancient records, the Plates of Brass, that they might see the works of יהוה YHVH in lands long past, and remember how YHVH Raphacha had moved among the peoples of old. 
I read to them from the Book of Moses, from the Book of Beginnings, teaching of journeys, of covenant, and of calling. 
wanting to more fully turn their hearts to YHVH Raphacha, their Ga’ali, I read to them the words of Isaiah, as his voice carries both the hand judgment and the hand of mercy, and his vision stretches across generations. 
And I showed them how all scripture speaks inwardly of us, that it might become living wisdom, bread for the journey, light for the path, and understanding for the soul. 
And I said to them: Listen, O you who area remnant of Bnei Yisrael, you are also a branch that has been broken off! Hear the words written for all Yisrael, and receive them as your own, that you may have hope, just as those from whom you were separated. 
For after this manner did the prophet speak: 
Hear this and listen, O House of Jacob, you who bear the name Yisrael, who emerged from the waters of Judah, you,who speak the Name of יהוה YHVH and invoke Tzur Yisrael, yet not in truth, and not in righteousness. 
You call yourselves citizens of the holy city, but you do not lean your weight upon Tzur Yisrael, YHVH Tzva’ot, the Lord of Hosts—this is His Name. 
See how from the beginning I declared what would be, my words went forth from My mouth, and suddenly I revealed them. 
I did so because I knew your nature: your neck like iron, your brow like bronze. 
So I spoke beforehand, lest you say: My idol did this, my image commanded it. 
You have seen, you have heard: will you not now testify? From this moment, I reveal new things, even those that have been hidden, mysteries you did not know. 
And they are brought to light even now, not a long time ago, so you cannot say: I already understood. 
Your ear was never fully open, I knew you would rebel, so from the womb you were called a transgressor. 
¶ And yet, for the sake of My Name, I restrain My anger, for My glory, I do not cut you off. 
Behold, I have refined you, I did seek you out in the furnace of affliction. 
For My own sake, yes, My own sake, I act; for I will not allow My Name to be desecrated, nor My glory given to another. 
¶ Listen to Me, O Jacob! Listen, Yisrael, whom I have called! I Am He: I am the First, and I am the Last, Aleph-Tav! 
And My hand laid the foundations of the earth; My right hand stretched out the heavens, and when I call to them, they stand together. 
Gather yourselves and hear: Who among the idols foretold these things? יהוה YHVH loves His chosen one, and His will will be fulfilled: His will be done to Babylon, and His arm will rise against the Chaldeans. 
I have spoken, I have called him, I have brought him forth, and his way will prosper. 
¶ Come closer to Me, I have not spoken in secret; from the beginning, My voice has been heard! And now YHVH Elohim has sent Me, and His Ruach with Me. 
Thus says יהוה YHVH, your Ga’ali, Kodesh Yisraela: I have sent him, יהוה YHVH, your Elohim, the One who teaches you to your benefit, who guides you in the way you should walk has done this. 
O, that you had listened! Then your peace would have flowed like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. 
Your descendants would have been countless as sand, your offspring like grains upon the shore; your name would never have been cut off from before Me. 
¶ Go out from Bavel, flee from confusion and captivity; declare it with singing—proclaim it to the ends of the earth: יהוה YHVH has redeemed His servant Jacob! 
They did not thirst in the deserts, He led them, He split the rock, and living waters poured forth. 
And yet, even though He has done all of this and more, there is no peace, says יהוה YHVH, for the wicked. 
¶ Hearken, O Bnei Yisrael, you who have been torn away, scattered like sparks from a shattered vessel, driven to distant shores by shepherds who forgot their calling; all you broken branches of the ancient tree: listen now to the voice that gathers. 
Listen to me, O islands of the sea, and you peoples who dwell at the edges of the earth; יהוה YHVH called me before my first breath; from the hidden chambers of my mother He spoke my name, before I knew myself, the Holy One knew me. 
He shaped my words like a sharpened sword, keen with truth, and hid me within the shadow of His hand; like a polished arrow prepared for its hour, He placed me in His quiver until the appointed time. 
And He said to me: You are My servant, O Yisrael! In you My splendor shall be revealed; through you the light of My Name will shine. 
And yet I whispered in my weariness: I have labored for nothing; my strength has been poured out like water on dry ground; still my judgment rests with יהוה YHVH, and my work is gathered into the hands of my Elohim. 
¶ Now, says יהוה YHVH, who formed me in the secret womb to be His servant, to turn Jacob’s heart homeward and call Yisrael back to the Source: Even if Yisrael seems not yet gathered, still I am precious in the eyes of יהוה YHVH, and Elohai remains my strength. 
And He spoke again: It is too small a thing that you should only raise the fallen tribes of Jacob and restore the preserved remnant of Yisrael! I will make you a light to the nations, a lamp upon the menorah of the world, that My salvation may reach to the farthest horizon. 
Thus says יהוה YHVH, Ga’ali of Yisrael, His Kodesh, to the servant scorned and despised, rejected by rulers and nations: Kings will rise when they behold you; princes shall bow low in reverence, because יהוה YHVH is faithful, HaKodesh who has chosen you. 
And יהוה YHVH says: In the season of favor I have heard you, O isles of the sea, and in the day of salvation I have helped you; I will guard you and give you my servant as a covenant for the people, to renew the earth in restoration of the desolate inheritances. 
You will say to the prisoners: Go free! and to those who sit in darkness: Come into the light, reveal yourselves! They shall find pasture along every road, and nourishment on every height. 
They will hunger no more, nor thirst again; the burning sun will not strike them, for the Compassionate One will lead them and guide them beside springs of living water. 
I will turn My mountains into pathways; My highways will be lifted up like bridges between exile and home. 
And then, O Bet Yisrael, see that My children shall come from afar: from the north and the west, from the land of Sinim, from every place where My Name was whispered in secret. 
¶ Sing, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! for the feet of those who are in the east shall be established! Break forth into song, O mountains, you are no longer afflicted! For יהוה YHVH has comforted His people and shown mercy to the lowly. 
Yet Zion cries: יהוה YHVH has abandoned me! And: Adonai has forgotten my name! Yet He will prove that he has not forgotten. 
Ha’Kadosh answers: Can a mother forget her nursing child? Even if she should forget, I will never forget you, O Bnei Yisrael. 
See, I have engraved you upon the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me. 
Your children will hurry home, and those who destroyed you shall depart from your borders. 
¶ Lift up your eyes and see: they gather to you from every direction! As I live, says יהוה YHVH, you shall wear them like jewels, as a bride adorns herself with beauty. 
Your desolate lands, once barren, will overflow with life; those who consumed you will be far away. 
The children born after your sorrow will say in your hearing: This place is too small for us, 
Then you will wonder in your heart: Who has borne me these? I was bereaved and alone, wandering and captive; from where have these come? 
Thus says YHVH Elohim: See, I will lift My hand to the nations and raise My banner to the peoples; they will carry your sons in their arms and your daughters upon their shoulders. 
Kings will be your foster fathers, queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow before you, and then you will know that I am יהוה YHVH; and none who wait for Me will ever be ashamed. 
Can the prey be taken from the mighty? Can captives be freed from the strong? 
Yes, says יהוה YHVH: Even the captives of the mighty will be delivered, and the prey of the ruthless set free; and I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children. 
Those who oppressed you will be turned upon themselves, and all flesh will know at last that I, יהוה YHVH, am your Savior, your Ga’ali, the Mighty One of Jacob, HaShomer Yisrael, the Restorer.

Chapter 7

The Unfolding of the Covenant

And now, after I, Nephi, had finished reading the ancient words engraved upon the Plates of Brass, my brothers gathered around me with troubled faces and asked: What is the meaning of these writings you have read to us? 
Are they only symbols of spiritual things? Or do they speak of mysteries to be fulfilled by the Ruach alone, and not in the world of flesh? 
And I answered them, saying: These things were revealed to the prophets by the Ruach, the Breath of the Holy One. 
By the Ruach HaKodesh are all truths made known to seers and visionaries, truths that will come to pass among the children of Adam in the realm of mortal life. 
Know this: the words I have read concern both the outward and the inward, both the temporal and the eternal. 
We see that Bnei Yisrael, those called to walk the straight path toward Elohim, shall, in the unfolding of ages, be scattered across the face of the earth, sown like seed among every nation. 
Already many are lost from the memory of Yerushalayim, 
the greater part of the tribes have vanished into distant lands, 
scattered upon the islands of the seas, 
hidden in places unknown to us, we only know they have been led away by the hand of Providence. 
The prophets have spoken concerning these scattered ones; they have told of a people confounded because they hardened their hearts against HaKadosh Yisrael and how they have hardened their hearts against Him. 
And because of this, they will be dispersed among all nations and feel the weight of rejection and sorrow. 
Yet the day will come when the goyim nations will nurse them like children, and יהוה YHVH will raise His hand among the nations and lift them up as a banner, daughters will be carried upon shoulders, sons will be borne in loving arms: these promises are outward and historical as they flow from the eternal covenants sworn to our fathers. 
And not only the days to come, but all who descend from Bet Yisrael. 
And after Yisrael has been scattered and confused, YHVH Elohim will raise up a mighty nation among the goyim upon this very land. 
Through them our seed will be scattered again. 
And after the scattering, a marvelous work will begin, a work of wonder and restoration. 
Think of it as Yisrael being nourished by the goyim, carried tenderly as an infant, lifted and strengthened for a new beginning. 
It will be a great blessing to the goyim! 
This work will bless not only the goyim but the entire Bet Yisrael, it will reveal anew the covenants of the Father of Heaven, the promises made to Avraham, father of many nations: In your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed. 
Understand this, my brothers: there will be no tikkun olam, the earth cannot be healed, until HaKadosh bares His holy arm before all peoples. 
Then יהוה YHVH will unveil His power in the sight of every nation, bringing forth His covenants and His glad tidings to those who are of Yisrael. 
He will draw them out of captivity, gather them to the lands prepared for their inheritance, 
bringing them out of obscurity and darkness. 
And they shall know with certainty that יהוה YHVH is their Moshia, their Ga’ali—Ha’Kadosh Yisrael. 
But the false powers of the world, the great and corrupted systems that enslave souls, sellers of their own souls, will turn upon themselves. 
Those who sought to destroy Zion shall fall into the pits they have dug, falling upon their own swords, drunk from their own blood. 
Every nation that wars against Yisrael will be set against its own brother. 
They will fall into the very pit they will dig to trap the people of יהוה YHVH! 
All who fight against Zion will be destroyed. 
The great harlet that twisted the paths of יהוה YHVH will crumble to the dust, and her fall will be terrible. 
And the prophet has said: The day hastens when the Adversary will lose his grip upon the hearts of humankind. 
The proud will be as dry stubble, and wickedness will be consumed in holy fire. 
The fullness of divine justice will be poured out, 
yet the Holy One will not allow the righteous to be destroyed. 
By His power, they will be preserved, even if deliverance must come through refining flames. 
And we know that the righteous do not need to fear, said the prophet, though the earth know blood and fire and billows of smoke, those who trust in Ha’Kadosh will endure. 
My brothers, I tell you that these things must soon come, the bloodshed, the fire, the thick smoke, it all must come! 
It will be here upon the face of the earth! 
Mankind will bring it upon themselves, because they will harden their hearts against Ha’Kadosh Yisrael. 
But you will see that the righteous will live! 
Yet all who fight against Zion will be cut off. 
And יהוה YHVH will prepare a path for His people according to the promise spoken through Moses: 
יהוה YHVH your Elohim will raise up a prophet for you; hear him in all things. 
And those who refuse that prophet will be separated from the people of Yisrael. 
I testify that this promised prophet Moses told us would come is Ha’Kadosh Yisrael Himself, 
and in righteousness He will give judgment. 
The just do not need to fear or tremble, for they will never be confounded. 
But the kingdom built upon pride and greed, the empire of the flesh, shall fall to ruin. 
All institutions raised up for gain, for power, for praise of the world, and all who chase the lusts of the eye and the arrogance of life: 
All these belong to the dominion of darkness, 
they must be humbled to the dust, 
and consumed like chaff before the wind. 
This is what the prophet has told us. 
But the righteous will be gathered gently, like calves led from the stall, and Ha’Kadosh Yisrael will reign in dominion, might, and radiant glory. 
He will gather His children from the four corners of the earth. 
He will number His sheep, and they will know His voice. 
There will be one fold and one Shepherd. 
He will feed His flock in green pastures, and in Him they will find rest. 
And then, because of the righteousness of His people, the power of the Adversary shall wither away. 
He will have no dominion for many years, 
because hearts will be filled with light, and Ha’Kadosh Yisrael will reign openly among them. 
And now, I, Nephi, tell you these things that will unfold in the realm of flesh and history. 
And every nation and tongue that turns in teshuvah will dwell safely in the embrace of Ha’Kadosh. 
¶ And now I, Nephi, bring my words to a close, for there are mysteries yet I dare not speak. 
Remember, my brothers: the writings upon the Plates of Brass are true! 
And they testify that all humankind must walk in obedience to the mitzvoth, the holy teachings of Ve’Daiyan Yisrael. 
Do not think that our father and I are the only ones to bear witness; the chorus of prophets stands with us! 
And if you will keep the mitzvoth and endure faithfully to the end, you will be saved in the final day. 
And thus it is: Amen.
