The Book of the Judgements of the LORD

The Judgements of the LORD over His people, Israel.

Chapter 1

And it came to pass that Joshua did give them lands for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes; 
And the dividing up of the lands unto the seed of Jacob and the children of Israel is written down even in the Book of Allotments. 
And behold, Israel was obedient unto the words of Moses, and the Torah of Moses, wherein Moses did say: 
¶ And now, see that I have appointed my servant Joshua, son of Nun, and that he has been anointed to lead Israel into the land promised by יהוה (YHVH) unto our fathers, even Abraham, Isacc and Jacob, 
And he shall give unto everyone their portion and their due, and it shall be for a perpetual inheritance. 
Therefore, when the land be taken, let Joshua appoint unto everyone an inheritance sufficient them, and for their children and their children’s children. 
And to the princes their portions, that they have an abundance for their servants, and their households lest they be tempted to take reward for judgment, or feed not the poor for lack of bread, or deliver not the oppressed for the weakness of their arm. 
¶ And thus saith יהוה (YHVH), the Elohim of Israel: Ye shall not sell your inheritances, nor shall you deliver them to the hands of strangers, to possess them; 
Yea, you shall in no wise grant them to others: for they are the dwelling of your wives and your children, and the food and raiment of your households. 
¶ And there in this, the words of יהוה (YHVH), ye shall find wisdom; for if ye should rent out your inheritances, thus taking a price for them, you shall not give those who would rent them to possess them; 
For if you do this thing they shall not give it up, but it will belong to them for all their generations. 
But if you should thrust them out at the end of their season, then shall your wives and your children, and all your household return to them, and none shall hinder them. 
Wherefore, you shall keep a book of inheritances that all may read therein, that no one should trespass upon their neighbor. 
¶ So too did Moses say: Ye shall set up landmarks to your possessions, and no one shall move them. 
But if ye set not up landmarks, or neglect to keep them up that they go to decay, and are lost, that anyone should trespass unknowingly, then they shall not be punished, for they knew not. 
But they shall pay for what was taken, or the one who did own that inheritance shall pay them for their labor, and take as their own, 
But the price of it shall be set low, for they did not know, or the price of the labor set high, for they did not know their trespass, thus the fault shall lay in the hands of the inheritor. 
¶ And if strangers or enemies set up landmarks against you, seeking to destroy and take your lands, then you shall destroy them until they do not remain. 
¶ And all this did Moses say unto Israel, and thus is the Torah of Moses unto the inheritance of Israel, 
That ye should not fight brother against brother, nor sister against sister, nor neighbor against neighbor that there should be peace in the land. 
Wherefore, I, Joshua, do instruct you, saying: Set ye up alters throughout the lands, that the Levites might offer up sacrifices, and pour out libations unto יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim. 
And so it was that altars were established unto יהוה (YHVH), and the Levites, both the Priests and the Priestesses, did establish the lands unto יהוה (YHVH); 
And these were of stone that were not hewn by the hands of man, and no steps were built to go up unto them, that the nakedness of the Levites should be discovered. 
¶ And the Priests did offer up sacrifices, and the Priestesses did pour out their libations; 
Yea, and the Priests and the Priestesses did remember the Holy Days, and they did read the night skys; 
And the young men did play their harps and bang the drums, and the young women did dance in worship in revelation.

Chapter 2

And it came to pass that after יהוה (YHVH) had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua did wax old and was stricken in age. 
And so it was that Joshua did call for all Israel, and for their Elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers and Joshua did say unto them: 
Behold, I am old and stricken in age; and ye have seen all that יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, hath done unto all these nations because of you; 
For יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, is the One that hath fought these wars against the old elohim that did abandon this land, and this יהוה (YHVH) did for each one of you. 
¶ And behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that יהוה (YHVH) did cut off, even unto the great sea westward. 
And if ye shall honor the covenant that ye did make with יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, He shall keep watch over you, and drive them from out of your sight; 
Yea, and it shall come to pass that ye shall possess their lands even as יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, hath promised. 
¶ Be ye, therefore, very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the Torah of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand nor to the left, 
And this that ye come not among these nations, these who do remain among you; 
Neither shall you make mention of the name of their elohim, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them; 
But ye shall cleave unto יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, even as ye have done unto this day: 
For יהוה (YHVH) hath driven them out from before you; but as for you, no one hath been able to stand before Israel unto this day. 
For if ye should keep the covenant יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, shall fight for you, even as He hath promised, 
But even as Moses did teach us, if ye keep not your oath unto יהוה (YHVH), you have no promise. 
¶ And it is the will of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, that ye should have no kings over you, but that ye shall appoint judges, 
Yet Moses did see that the day should come that you should desire a king over you, and this shall be as both a blessing and a curse over you. 
Therefore remember in that day the sayings of Moses: And when the king sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom and ruleth, he shall write for him a copy of the Book of HaTorah, according to that which is before YHVH continually, out of that which is before the Priests and the Priestesses, the Levites; 
And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life that he may learn to reverence YHVH, his Elohim, 
And to keep all the words of that Torah and these ordinances before him continually, to do them, and forget not to administer justice and judgment throughout the land; 
That his heart be not lifted up above his people and that he turn not aside from his mitzvoth, to the right hand nor to the left; 
And this that he might prolong his days in the land YHVH, our Elohim, shall give thee, and of his children among the faithful, and that he may prolong his days, he and his children, in the midst of Israel. 
¶ And the king shall execute judgment among the people, and over the rulers, and over all they that doth sit in judgment: 
Yea, he shall deliver the poor, and the needy, and the oppressed; and if their cry be faint, yet shall he hear them and harken unto their cries; 
And he shall be a father to the fatherless, and a husband to the widow, and a guardian to they who hath no protector. 
¶ And your kings, should they turn the works of their administration of this kingdom to another; 
Or should they appoint another to rule a portion in their name, they may take them a sar (governor or captain) and confer upon them command over the judgment seat. 
And the sar shall keep the Torah of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, and the law of the kings, and shall not depart from it; 
And the sars shall not exalt themselves against the kings of Israel, nor shall they keep their doings secret from the kings, but they shall be faithful unto the kings and unto יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, and to his house (tribe) of Israel in all things. 
¶ And the sar shall make no laws, but shall govern according to the laws of Israel, and the Torah of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, 
And should the sar devise up a new law, then he shall proclaim it not unto Israel except it be by the word of the king; 
For the sars shall do nothing that is forbidden to the king, but shall exercise all things by the commission of the king and only in the dominion they shall be appointed unto them. 
And should any sar despise the Torah of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, or the law of the kings, to do that which is set against their mitzvoth, then they be a usurper, and must be removed from their place.

Chapter 3

Wherefore, saith Moses: The kings over Israel shall appoint wise men and women who do study the Torah of יהוה (YHVH), and who are lovers of righteousness, fearing not the rich, nor despising the poor, to be judges; 
And these men and women shall sit upon the judgment seat of the king. And they shall sit before him continually, and this that they should judge in all great causes. 
And the ear of the judges shall never be closed that they cannot hear, for there shall always be judges to sit in the judgment seat throughout the land of Israel. 
¶ And so it shall be that a king shall appoint twelve judges to his court, if so many are needed; 
And all of these shall be High Priests and High Priestesses unto El Eyon; and they shall be at the disposal of the people of Israel for the judging of all great matters; 
But all the smaller matters may be judged by other judges, as shall be appointed, 
And this that these may judge the larger causes continually, and that they judge upon the judgment of other judges. 
And these judges shall hear and judge and determine speedily: 
Yeah, they shall not delay in their judgments, but they shall judge in righteous judgment without reward, doing no injustice. 
¶ And if any judges should judge unrighteously, or refuse judgment to the just, or despise the Torah, or take reward for their judgment, then they shall be removed from their places. 
But all they that do serve faithfully, they shall be given relief in their age and in their infirmity. 
¶ And the shamashim shall bring the disobedient, the stiffnecked, the peace breakers, and all they who have done great wickedness before the judges, 
And the judges shall execute their judgment upon all those who withstand it and obey not. 
And the shamashim shall execute all the orders of the courts, and shall be a fear unto the disorderly, and all revilers; 
And the shamashim shall do whatsoever the judges shall instruct them in righteousness. 
¶ And the Chief Shamash shall be the steward of the king which he committeth to the judges and shall render a just account of their stewardship to the judges. 
And one that doth sit upon the council of the king shall be the Head Shamash or the First Shamash. 
¶ And in all the villages, and the towns, and the cities shall judges be appointed; one to a village, two to a town, and three to a city, and if the people do require it, more: 
And they shall be the Elders of the people; men and women of God who shall sit upon the judgment seat of the city and judge all the causes which shall come before them. 
And they shall sit in judgment, on the judgment seat in the gathering place of their city and there they shall render judgment speedily upon all they who have violated the Torah. 
¶ And the shamashim shall execute the judgment of the judges upon all who obey not, and shall bring before the judges any peace breakers, and all who do violence. 
And there shall be a Head Shamash of each village, and town, and city, 
And the Head Shamash shall render a just account of all they have been given stewardship over as the principal minister of the court. 
And the shamashim are to be lovers of the Torah, of stout heart, strength of character, and swift of foot. 
¶ And all these things did Moses say unto Israel, that when the reign of the kings should come over Israel, the will of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, would be known; 
But now are the days of the judges of Israel, for the reign of the kings is not yet, 
Yet unto Israel has El Elyon made known how to set up the judgment seat that Israel should resist the temptation of setting one apart as king over you. 
And I pray that יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, shall be the King over these lands for all of your days, and that the judges shall judge in righteousness. 
For in this day, the Levites are the Priests and Priestesses of Israel, and יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, be our king. 
¶ And the day shall come that all of Israel shall be the Priests and Priestesses, the kings and queens of Israel, and יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, will be the Great High Priest and the King of kings. 
And until that day, take good heed, therefore, unto yourselves, that ye do love יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim with all thy might, all thy heart, and all thy strength, that ye should keep the Torah of Moses and the covenant. 
And know for a certainty that if ye do it not, that יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; 
But they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes until ye do perish from off this good land which יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, hath given you.

Chapter 4

And it came to pass that Joshua spoke again, saying: And behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth; 
And ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, did speak concerning you; 
For all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof; 
Therefore, it shall come to pass that as all good things are come upon you which יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, hath promised you, 
So too shall יהוה (YHVH) bring upon you all evil things until he hath destroyed you from off this good land which יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, hath given you. 
When ye have transgressed the covenant of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, which יהוה (YHVH) did instruct you, and have gone and served other elohim, and bowed yourselves to them, then shall the anger of יהוה (YHVH) be kindled against you; 
And should thou doest this, it shall come to pass that ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which יהוה (YHVH) hath given unto you. 
¶ And it came to pass that Joshua did gather up all the tribes of Israel before him, and he did call for the Elders of Israel, and for their heads, 
And for their judges, and for their officers; and they did come forth and present themselves before Ha’Elohim. 
¶ And it came to pass that Joshua did speak unto all the people, saying: Thus saith יהוה (YHVH), Elohim of Israel: 
Your fathers did dwell on the other side of the waters in old times, even Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nachor; and they served other elohim. 
And I did take your father, Abraham, and your mother, Sarah, from the other side of those waters, and led them throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied their seed, and I did give them Isaac. 
And I gave unto Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and Esau; and I gave unto Esau Mount Seir, to possess it; 
But in the famine, I did send Joseph to make a way for Jacob and his wives and their children and all the house of Israel to go down into Egypt. 
And it was I, יהוה (YHVH), your Elohim, who did send Moses and Zipporah, and also Aaron and Miriam, and I did plague that Egypt, according to that which I did among them; and afterward I did bring you out. 
¶ And so it was that I did bring your fathers out of Egypt; and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the rushes of the sea. 
And when they cried unto me, I did put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; 
And the eyes of thy fathers and thy mothers have seen what I have done in Egypt; and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season. 
¶ And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side of the waters; 
And so it was that they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed their elohim from before you. 
Then Balak, the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose, and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam, the son of Beor, to curse you; 
But Balaam, my servant, he did blessed you still; so I delivered you out of the hand of Balak. 
¶ And ye went over Jordan and came unto Jericho; and the men of Jericho did fight against you, 
Even the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand. 
And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword nor with thy bow. 
¶ And behold I have given you a land for which ye did not labor and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; 
And I have given unto you of the vineyards and olive yards which ye planted not, yet do ye eat; 
Therefore, remember me throughout all your and I shall keep you for all your generations and you shall not be uprooted from out of this, the land of thy inheritance. 
But if you should forget me, and keep not the covenant and walk after other elohim, and serve them, and worship them, then you shall surely perish: and even as I have spoken, so shall it be.

Chapter 5

And now, I, Joshua, do say unto you: Honor יהוה (YHVH), and serve our Elohim in sincerity and in truth, and put away the elohim which your fathers served on the other side of the flood and in Egypt; and serve יהוה (YHVH). 
And if it seem evil unto you to serve יהוה (YHVH), then I say unto thee: 
Choose you this day whom ye will serve, be it the elohim which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve יהוה (YHVH). 
¶ And it came to pass that all the people did answer, saying with one voice: Far be it from us that we should forsake יהוה (YHVH) to serve other elohim; 
For יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, did bring us and our fathers and our mothers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, 
And יהוה (YHVH) did all those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went and among all the people through whom we passed; 
And יהוה (YHVH) did drive out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land; therefore will we also serve יהוה (YHVH), for יהוה (YHVH) is our Elohim. 
¶ And it came to pass that Joshua did speak again unto the people, saying: Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you יהוה (YHVH), to serve Him. 
And so it was that they did speak, saying: We are witnesses. 
¶ And it came to pass that Joshua spoke again unto the people, saying: Put away then the strange elohim which are among you, and turn your heart unto יהוה (YHVH), Elohim of Israel. 
And so it was that the people of Israel did speak, saying unto Joshua: יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, will we serve, and the Voice of Him we will obey. 
And so it was that Joshua did make a covenant between יהוה (YHVH) and His Israel, and he did set the people that day a statute and an ordinance of it.

Chapter 6

And it came to pass that after Joshua had gone all the way of the earth, that the children of Joseph did take the sword of Joseph that had been made for Joseph when he did reign over all of Egypt, save it be the Pharoh of Egypt: 
The hilt of which being made of pure gold, and the workmanship thereof being exceedingly fine, and the blade thereof being made from the most precious of metals, the like of which was not to be found in all the lands, not even amongst the Egyptians; 
Yea, that same sword that Joshua did use to lead his people into battle in the name of יהוה (YHVH), our Elohim, did they take, and they did pass it down unto the descendants of Joseph, even unto this day. 
¶ And it came to pass that the people of Israel did go asking of יהוה (YHVH), saying: Who is it that shall go up for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them? 
For the wars of יהוה (YHVH) against the elohim of those lands had come to an end, but the wars between Israel and these foreign nations did continue. 
And thus did the people go unto the twelve men and the twelve women, one man and one woman from each of the tribes, anointed and set apart to judge the people, and these did enquire of יהוה (YHVH). 
And so it was that יהוה (YHVH) did speak unto Israel through these twelve men and twelve women of Israel, saying: 
Judah shall go up; behold, יהוה (YHVH) hath delivered the land into his hand. 
¶ And it came to pass that Judah did say unto his brother, Simeon: Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I, likewise, will go with thee into thy lot. 
And so it was that Simeon did go forth with him. 
And it came to pass that when Judah did go up that יהוה (YHVH) did deliver the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand. 
¶ And it came to pass that after they had slain ten thousand men, that they did find Adoni-Bezeq (אדֹני־בזק lord of Bezek) in Bezeq (בזק Bezek, lightning); 
And so it was that they did fight against him, and they did slay many of the Canaanites and the Perizzites. 
And it came to pass that when Adoni-Bezeq did flee the battle that they did pursue him; and they did catch him. 
And so it was that they did cut off his thumbs and his great toes. 
Wherefore, Adoni-Bezeq did say: Of the seventy-two kings I have brought low, these have gathered their meat under my table, for I had even cut off their thumbs and their great toes; 
Therefore, even as I have done, so hath Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Protector/Judge of Israel) requited me. 
¶ And it came to pass that they did take Adoni-Bezeq to Jerusalem, and there he died. 
And so it was that the children of Judah did fight against Jerusalem, and they did take the city by the edge of the sword, and they did see the city burn. 
¶ And it came to pass that the children of Judah did go down to fight against the Canaanites that dwelt in the mountains, and in the south, and in the valley. 
And so it was that Judah did march against the Canaanites that dwelt in Qiryath Cannah, and they did take Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, and they were no more.

Chapter 7

And it came to pass that Kaleb (כלב, he who attacks) did say: He who will smite Qiryath Cannah and taketh it, to him will I give ‘Akcah (עכסה, tinkling ornament or trophy), my daughter, to wife. 
And so it was what Othniy'el (Othniel עתניאל, force of God), the son of Kenaz, the younger brother of Kaleb, took it; that Kaleb did give ‘Akcah, his daughter, unto Othniy'el to wife. 
¶ And it came to pass that when ‘Akcah did some unto Othniy'el, that she did urge her husband to ask of her father for a field. 
And so it was that after she had gotten off her ass, that Kaleb, her husband, did say unto her: What doth thou desire? 
And ‘Akcah did say unto him: Give me a blessing. 
And we know that ‘Akcah was set apart into that same priesthood as her mothers, Sarah and Rebekah, and Leah; 
For while the Daughters of Miriam were set apart to the Levitical Priesthood unto יהוה (YHVH), the daughters of the tribe of Judah were set apart also that they might bless their households, even as Zipporah had taught the daughters of Israel. 
For even as all of the men of Israel are kings and priests, so too are all of the women queens and priestesses, even as Moses and Zipporah did teach them. 
And Kaleb did bless his wife in prophecy, telling her by the Voice that she should receive her inheritance, even a land to the south. 
¶ And it came to pass that after Kaleb had blessed his wife, ‘Akcah, she too did lay her hand upon him, and she did bless her husband. 
And so it was that after she did bless him, she did speak again unto him, saying: See, thou hast given thy wife land to the south; therefore, give her also a well of water, and this that thy seed should prosper here upon this land. 
And Kaleb did give her the upper and the lower springs for water.

Chapter 8

And it came to pass that the children of the Kenite, the father-in-law of Moses, did go up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they did go and dwell among the people. 
And Judah went with Simeon, his brother, and they did slay the Canaanites who inhabited Zephath and utterly destroyed it. 
And so it was that Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. 
¶ And it came to pass that יהוה (YHVH) was with Judah; and they did drive out the inhabitants of the mountain but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley because they had chariots of iron. 
And so it was that they did give Hebron unto Kaleb as Moses said; and he did expel from there the three sons of Anak. 
And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; thus, the Jebusites did dwell with the children of Benjamin. 
¶ And it came to pass that the house of Joseph also went up against Bethel; and יהוה (YHVH), was with them. 
And so it was that the house of Joseph sent to descry Bethel. 
Now the name of the city before was Luz, and the spies saw a man come forth out of the city. 
And the spies did say unto him: Show us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will show thee mercy. 
And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family. 
And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz. 
Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns; but the Canaanites did dwell in that land. 
¶ And it came to pass that when Israel was strong, that they did put the Canaanites to tribute and did not utterly drive them out. 
Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them. 
Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites did dwell among them and these did become tributaries. 
Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob; 
And so it was that the Asherites did dwell among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out. 
Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh nor the inhabitants of Beth-anath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; 
Nevertheless, the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of Beth-anath became tributaries unto them. 
¶ And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not suffer them to come down to the valleys: 
But the Amorites would dwell in Mount Heres in Aijalon and in Shaalbim; yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed so that they became tributaries. 
And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock and upward.

Chapter 9

And it came to pass that the angel of יהוה (YHVH) did come up from Gilgal to Bochim and did speak the Word of יהוה (YHVH) saying: 
I did make you to go up out of Egypt and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I did say: I will never break my covenant with you. 
And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars; but ye have not obeyed my voice. 
And why have ye done this? 
Wherefore, I also did say: I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their elohim shall be a snare unto you. 
¶ And it came to pass that when the angel of יהוה (YHVH) spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people did lift up their voice and they did weep aloud. 
¶ And it came to pass that they did remember the Torah of יהוה (YHVH) given by the mouth of Moses, saying unto all of Israel: 
I am YHVH, thy Elohim, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, to give thee the land of promise and to be thy Elohim; 
Thou shall be my Israel, thou shall keep my Sabbaths and find reverence in my sanctuary; for I am YHVH, thy Elohim. 
¶ And Six days shall work be done; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, for a solemn assembly; thou shalt do no work therein; it is the Sabbath of יהוה (YHVH) in all of your dwellings. 
Yea, and for six days thou shalt do thy work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest, that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid and the stranger may be refreshed; I am YHVH, thy Elohim. 
¶ And six years thou shalt sow thy land and shalt gather in the fruits thereof; 
But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still, that the poor of thy people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field shall eat. 
In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard and with thy olive yard; I am YHVH, thy Elohim. 
¶ Three times thou shalt keep a feast unto me in the year: 
Thou shalt keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, in which thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days as I taught thee in the time appointed of the month; for in it thou camest out from Egypt; and none shall appear before me empty. 
And the Feast of Weeks, the first fruits of thy labors which thou hast sown in the field. 
And the Feast of Booths, for this is when thou hast gathered in thy final labors out of the field. 
These three times in the year, all thy males shall appear before my face; I am YHVH, thy Elohim. 
¶ These are the feasts of יהוה (YHVH); holy convocations, even convocations and feasts unto יהוה (YHVH), your Elohim. 
Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is the Sabbath day: 
You shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of יהוה (YHVH), in all your dwellings: 
You shall take care that nothing perish nor diminish, yet thou shalt not labor for hire nor increase. 
In this, you shall have a holy convocation in all your Temples and Synagogues. 
And concerning the feasts of יהוה (YHVH), which you shall proclaim to be solemn assemblies, even these are my feasts, and I am YHVH. 
¶ And it came to pass that the people did remember HaShem YHVH. 
And so it was that they did call the name of that place Bochim; and there they did offer sacrifices unto יהוה (YHVH).

Chapter 10

And in that day when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went, every man unto his inheritance, to possess the land. 
And the people served יהוה (YHVH) all the days of Joshua and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of יהוה (YHVH) that He did for Israel. 
And so it was that when Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of יהוה (YHVH), did die, they did bury him in the border of his inheritance, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash. 
¶ And it came to pass that all that generation were gathered unto their fathers; and there arose another generation after them which knew not יהוה (YHVH) nor yet the works which יהוה (YHVH) had done for Israel. 
And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of יהוה (YHVH) and served Ha’Ba’alim (הַבְּעָלִֽים, the gods; literally the masters or the husbands); 
And they forsook יהוה (YHVH), the Elohim of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, 
And they did follow other elohim, the gods of the people that were round about them, 
And they did bow themselves unto them, and provoked יהוה (YHVH) to anger. 
And they forsook יהוה (YHVH) serving Baal and Ashtaroth. 
And so it was that the anger of יהוה (YHVH) was hot against Israel, and יהוה (YHVH) did deliver them into the hands of destroyers who did plunder them; 
¶ And it came to pass that יהוה (YHVH) did sell them into the hands of their enemies round about so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies. 
Whithersoever they went out, the hand of יהוה (YHVH) was against them for evil as יהוה (YHVH)  had said and as יהוה (YHVH) had sworn unto them; and they were greatly distressed. 
Nevertheless, יהוה (YHVH) did raise up judges, who did deliver them out of the hand of those who did plunder them. 
And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they did prostitute themselves after other elohim and they did bow themselves unto them; 
And they did turn quickly out of the way which their fathers and mothers had walked in, for their fathers and their mothers did hear and obey the Torah of Moses; but their seed did not. 
¶ And it came to pass that when יהוה (YHVH) did raise them up judges, then יהוה (YHVH) was with the judges and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of those judges: 
For יהוה (YHVH) hearkened because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them. 
And so it was that when those judges were dead, that they did return to corrupt themselves more than their fathers in following other elohim, to serve them and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings nor from their stubborn ways. 
¶ And it came to pass that the anger of יהוה (YHVH) was hot against Israel; and יהוה (YHVH) did say: Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I made with their fathers and their mothers, and have not hearkened unto my Voice, 
I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died, 
That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep my ways: to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not! 
And so it was that יהוה (YHVH) left those nations without driving them out hastily; neither delivered He them into their hands.

Chapter 11

And it came to pass that יהוה (YHVH) did leave behind some of the nations to prove Israel by them, for there were now many in Israel who had not tasted of the wars: 
And so it was that five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Ba’al Chermown unto Lebo-Chamath. 
And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the mizvoth of יהוה (YHVH), even the Torah given their fathers by the hand of Moses and Zipporah. 
¶ And it came to pass that the children of Israel did dwell amongst the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites: 
And some did take their daughters to be their wives, and did give their daughters to their sons, and many did turn away from the faith, serving the foreign elohim. 
And so it was that the children of Israel did evil in the sight of YHVH Adoni Ha’Shaboth (תבשה ןוֹדא הוהי YHVH, Lord of the Sabbath), forgetting יהוה (YHVH), their Elohim, and they did begin to serve Ha’Ba’alim in the groves; 
Therefore, the anger of יהוה (YHVH) came hot against Israel, and He did surrender them into the hand of Kuwshan Rish’athayim, the king of Mesopotamia. 
And so it was that the children of Israel did serve Kuwshan Rish’athayim for eight years. 
¶ And it came to pass that when the children of Israel did cry out unto יהוה (YHVH), YHVH Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו הוהי Protector/Judge of Israel) did raise up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even ‘Othniy'el, the son of Qnaz, the younger brother of Kaleb. 
And the Ruach יהוה (YHVH) fell upon him, and he did judge Israel, and went out to war; 
And so it was that יהוה (YHVH) did delivere Kuwshan Rish’athayim, the king of Mesopotamia, into his hands; and his hand did prevail also against Kuwshan Rish’athayim. 
And the land had rest for forty years, and יהוה (YHVH) was undefeated.

Chapter 12

And it came to pass that the people who had been first in the land were converted unto יהוה (YHVH) and were washed clean of their sins, all they who had seen all the great works of יהוה (YHVH) that he did for Israel. 
And so it was that they did mourn for their dead, for their dead could not be washed clean in יהוה (YHVH). 
¶ And it came to pass that Israel did remember the words that Moses had given them, for he did say unto Israel: 
And thus shalt thou do unto all they who dwell among you to cleanse them: Bathe them in water to the purifying of them, so make themselves clean; 
For except you be born of the water, you cannot enter into the Kingdom of YHVH Adoni Ha’Shaboth (תבשה ןוֹדא הוהי YHVH, Lord of the Sabbath). 
Yet no one may have washing (baptism) of water, except they have faith toward YHVH Raphacha (ךאפר הוהי YHVH Heals/Restores), and come unto Adoni Ha’Shaboth (תבשה ןוֹדא Lord of the Sabbath) through the Priesthood of Life which He has sent, in teshuvah; and these are they who seek to learn righteousness by the living word of His Torah: 
For this is the door of all into the Kingdom of Israel; from the year of their discernment (eight years of age) and upwards; through which if ye enter not, ye shall not see El Roi (יאר לא God Who Sees Me). 
And the keys of the Priesthood of Life are that of the remission of sins, in the sacrament of tevilah (baptism), hath יהוה (YHVH) thy Elohim, bestowed upon His talmidim; 
And through them, upon their fellow laborers, the High Priests and High Priestesses, Elders, and Priests and Priestesses, teaching them to preach teshuvah and to all nations throughout the lands. 
Thou shalt not abhor the Edomite, for he is thy brother; thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian because thou wast a stranger in her land. 
¶ When ye shall take the land, all they who would not be counted against you shall be one with Israel. 
And the children that are born to them shall enter the assembly of יהוה (YHVH) in their third generation. 
Therefore, at every house (temple), which you will build unto יהוה (YHVH) thy Elohim, by His instruction, you shalt make a fountain for tevilah chesed shel emet (טבילה חסד של אמת), the bathing of the living on behalf of the dead. 
¶ And for these shall the living be washed clean: Everyone, according to the several rights, and in the several orders, according to ancestry, gender, and title, shall they be washed clean for any deceased, be they a husband, a wife, or posterity; 
Or be they any progenitor, or any brother, or any sister, whom, in faith, are to be remembered of Israel in Sheol. 
¶ And if anyone should in marriage take a wife, and she is the first of her lineage adopted into the house of Israel, then in the redemption of the dead they shall be hers, and she shall bring them to the house of יהוה (YHVH) her Elohim; 
And by your faith, they shall be sealed into the house of Israel forever, to raise up in the last day, and to increase the glory of the Kingdom. 
¶ And so it shall be that they shall also be washed clean for any relative, within the fourth degree of ancestry; for anyone betrothed to thee in marriage; 
For their father, their mother, their brother, their sister, or their child in adoption, whom יהוה (YHVH) shall give to them by tongue, dream, vision, spirit ministering in fire, word of angel, or by the Voice. 
¶ And should YHVH Raphacha (ךאפר הוהי YHVH Heals/Restores) will that any servants of the Priesthood of Life be washed clean for any other, angels will come to signify it unto them. 
But unto my servants of the Priesthood of Everlasting Life, the Voice, or יהוה (YHVH) will minister in fire (the Holy Spirit). 
¶ But no man or woman among you shall be bathed for the dead who is not a member of the houses of Israel, by birth or by adoption; 
Nor anyone who is unclean, according to the word of the Torah, nor any who keep back their part from the treasury of the House of יהוה (YHVH), your Elohim. 
¶ And so it shall be that at every house which you shall build unto יהוה (YHVH) your Elohim, High Priests and High Priestesses shall be set apart, and sanctified by anointing with holy oil to wash clean for the dead, and none other shall administer this sacrament. 
And recorders shall be set apart by the laying on of hands of High Priests and the High Priestesses, to record the washings for the dead; who shall be eyewitnesses to the washings, and shall record according to the seeing of their eyes. 
And other witnesses, who see with their eyes, shall bear wittness of tevilah chesed shel emet, that all thing be proved by the testimony of two or three witnesses. 
¶ But there shall be one record unto which all records of tevilah chesed shel emet shall be brought, and all written together in perpetual archives, and this that what has been sealed on the earth, may also be sealed in the Heavens. 
And in every house of YHVH El Racham (םוּחר לא הוהי YHVH God of Lovingkindness) also shall ye keep the records of all who are clean. 
¶ And except you be born of the Ruach HaKodesh, you cannot enter into the Kingdom of YHVH Adoni Ha’Shaboth (תבשה ןוֹדא הוהי YHVH, Lord of the Sabbath). 
Therefore, so it shall be that all they who shall be bathed in tevilah, upon them shall one who hath been ordained unto the Priesthood of Eternal Life shall lay their hands upon them, and confirm them, by the spirit of prophecy and revelation, sealed in the Kingdom, according as the Voice speaketh. 
¶ And the Ruach thus given shall grant unto them gifts of faith, knowledge, and understanding; 
And if they cherish it, then shall it guide and establish them in all righteousness, and bring unto them further gifts. 
¶ And so it shall be that when they do lay their hands upon them, the Breath, like an invigorating breeze, shall come upon them and cover them; 
And it shall wash over them gifts and powers, according to the gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh; 
And as the Ruach HaKodesh moveth on, this gift shall continue, and they shall walk in newness of life. 
¶ And it came to pass that in the land given to Judah, a house was built unto YHVH Raphacha (ךאפר הוהי YHVH Heals/Restores), that sacrifices could be made and the washings prepared. 
And so it was that the upper springs which Kaleb did give ‘Akcah for water did flow into the house (temple) of יהוה (YHVH), that the people in that land should be washed clean by the living waters; 
And it came to pass that throughout all of Israel, where the people were, Israel did build houses unto יהוה (YHVH), that they could be washed and made clean along with their dead.

Chapter 13

And it came to pass that after forty years of rest, that ‘Othniy'el, the son of Qnaz, did go all the way of the earth. 
And it came to pass that once again, the children of Jacob did evil again in the sight of יהוה (YHVH); 
And so it was that Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Judge of Israel) did strengthen Eglown (עגלוֹן, the bull), the king of the Moabites, against Israel because they had done evil in the sight of יהוה (YHVH). 
¶ And it came to pass that Eglown gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees. 
And so it was that the children of Israel served Eglown, the king of Moab, for eighteen years. 
¶ And it came to pass that the children of Israel did cry unto יהוה (YHVH), Tzur Israel (לארשי רוּצ Rock of Israel). 
And so it was that Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו the Protector of Israel) did raise them up a deliverer, and his name was Ehud (אהוּד, man of unity), the son of Gera, a Benjamite man who was restricted to the use of his left hand. 
And so it was that by him the children of Israel did send a gift unto Eglown, the king of the Moabites. 
Yea, and Ehud did have a dagger made for him, and the blade of it did have two edges, each one of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh. 
¶ And it came to pass that Ehud and his men did bring the gift of tribute unto Eglown, king of Moab; and Eglown was a very heavy man. 
And so it was that after Ehud had offered tribute unto the king of the Moabites, he did send away the men who had carried in the tribute. 
¶ And as Ehud did reach the idols of the Moabites, he did turn back, saying: I have a secret message unto thee, O King. 
And Eglown, the king of the Moabites, did say: Keep thy silence. 
¶ And it came to pass that upon the word of Eglown, king of Moab, all they who did attend to him went out from him. 
And so it was that Ehud did come unto the king of the Moabites as he was sitting in a summer parlor, which he had for himself alone. 
¶ And after all had gone out save it be Ehud and Eglown, Ehud did speak unto the king of the Moabites, saying: I have a message from Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Protector/Judge of Israel) unto thee. 
And Eglown, the king of the Moabites, did arise from out of his seat that he might hear this message. 
And so it was that Ehud did put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into the belly of the king of the Moabites deeply, so that the hilt also went in after the blade; 
And thus did the fat close up upon the blade so that Ehud could not draw the dagger out of his belly. 
¶ And now, Ehud did know that Eglown was dead, for he did let go a deep breath, and the refuse (skat) did come out of him, and the stink of it was mighty. 
¶ And it came to pass that Ehud did go forth through the porch, shutting the doors of the parlor upon him, and he did lock them. 
And so it was that after he was gone that the attendants of the king did come in and, seeing that the doors had been bolted, they did say: Surely the king is cooling off in his summer chamber. 
¶ And it came to pass that they did tarry long, even until they were ashamed of the length of it. 
And so it was that when the king of the Moabites had not opened the doors of the parlor after much time, the attendants did take a key and open the doors of it. 
¶ And it came to pass that they did look, and they did behold that their master did lie dead on the earth in the stink of that room. 
And so it was that Ehud had fled away to safety as they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Siyrah, a village of goat herders. 
¶ And it came to pass that when he knew that he was in a place of safety, Ehud did blow a shofar in the mountain of Ephraim: 
And so it was that all the children of Israel who did hear it did go down with him from the mount, and he before them. 
¶ And it came to pass that Ehud did say unto them: Follow after me; for יהוה (YHVH), Ha’Tzur Israel (לארשי רוּצ the Rock of Israel) hath delivered your enemies, the Moabites, into your hand! 
And so it was that they did go down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and they did not allow anyone to pass over. 
¶ And it came to pass that they did slay ten thousand men, all lusty and all men of valor, for none could escape them. 
And so it was that the Moabites were subdued that day under the hand of Israel.

Chapter 14

And it came to pass that the land had rest for eighty years, and Ehud did judge Israel in righteousness. 
And so it is that we see the deceit and guile of the human heart; for when Israel doth keep the Torah, Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Protector of Israel) rains His blessings upon her. 
Yea, and their harvests do multiply, and their flocks and herds abound, and they are found to possess gold, silver, and all manner of precious stones; 
And we see that יהוה (YHVH), Ha’Tzur Israel (לארשי רוּצ the Rock of Israel), doth preserve their lives and deliver them from the hands of their enemies. 
Yet when the sons of Jacob do harden their hearts, to forget YHVH Adoni Ha’Shaboth (תבשה ןוֹדא הוהי YHVH, Lord of the Sabbath) in their abundance, Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Judge of Israel) shall bless them with great afflictions, 
And they face death and terror, despite the great goodness and love YHVH Raphacha (ךאפר הוהי YHVH Heals/Restores) has shown them. 
¶ And it came to pass that after Ehud, Ve’Daiyan Israel (לארשי ןידו Protector of Israel) did bring up Shamgar, the son of Anath as chief judge over Israel. 
And so it was that he did slay six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox-goad; and he also delivered Israel. 
¶ And it came to pass that the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Kodesh Israel (לארשי שודק Holy One of Israel) after Ehud was dead, 
For the seed of Jacob neither obeyed the counsel of Ha’Oseh Shalom (םולש השע the Maker of Peace), nor accepted the guidance of YHVH Yir’eh (הארי הוהי YHVH will provide). 
And so it was that Ha’Rachaman (ןמחרה the Merciful One), did say unto them: Because of thine iniquities you shall be cut off from the Presence! 
How quickly my Israel doth hasten toward offence (חטאה, sin), yet ye are slow to do thy mitzvoth! Being swayed by foolish things, you are slow of heart: 
Rushing to exalt yourselves in pride, seeing evil as good, and refusing to walk in the pathways of wisdom! 
¶ And it came to pass that Ha’Kadosh Israel (לארשי שודק the Holy One of Israel) did sell the seed of Jacob into the hand of Yabiyn (יבין, discernment), king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor, captain of the Gentiles. 
And so it was that the children of Israel once again did cry unto Ha’Rachaman (ןמחרה the Merciful One); 
For Yabiyn, king of Canaan, did have nine hundred chariots of iron; and for twenty years he did oppress the children of Israel.

Chapter 15

And it came to pass that Deborah (דבּוֹרה, she who stings like a bee), the prophetess, wife of Lapidoth (לפידוֹת, she who shines), was Judge over Israel in that day. 
And so it was that the children of Israel did come up to her for judgment.
