Let not your fasting be done with the hypocrites; for they fast on the second and fifth day of the week. Instead you should fast on the forth day and the day of preparation.
Likewise, do not pray as do the hypocrites, but pray in this way, as the Lord commanded in His gospel:
“Our Father who is in heaven, let Your name be hallowed. Let Your kingdom come. Let Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
Pray in this way three times a day.
